Glasgow Tigers Vs Sheffield Tigers - Sell Out Sunday 2nd September

Recommended Posts

Taken from Official Glasgow Website:

Glasgow Speedway will be slashing admission prices for their Premier League encounter against the Sheffield Tigers on Sunday September 2nd in a bid to get Ashfield Stadium bursting to capacity for what promises to be another fiesty affair between the two Tigers teams.

Co-promoter Stewart Dickson said: “We understand that money is tight for most people in this current climate, so we are asking our supporters to spread the word to speedway fans new and old, friends and family, colleagues and customers. Lets get Ashfield Stadium packed for what we will hope will become known as “Sell Out Sunday”.

Adults: £10

Concessions: £10

Children Aged 12-15 years: £5

We will be operating a “Kids for a Quid” scheme (12 years and under)

Hats off to the Glasgow Promotion, and lets hope it is a success.

Proves even though the present Promotion is looking to sell the club on they are still committed to the club.

this should be tried at all grounds a few have tried promotions recently

if you get more in by cutting the gate price then it has to be good for the future

Not a great point, as it doesn't work like that. Let's just charge £1 and therefore lock some fans out.

Its a big risk what if they get the same old fans and then lose out

So true, but worth the gamble, provided that it's been publicised and enough non-attenders know about it.

One week's publicity may not be sufficient is my fear.

Big warm welcome to Mad Machin and his Yorkshire Tigers in tomorrow's cut price speedway extravaganza . With Sheffield being the only place we've won away all season , obviously we had to offer cut price admission to try and tempt folk along to the expected mauling .

With our play-off chances all but gone now , only pride is left at stake tomorrow . But with last season's greeting and moaning still fresh in the memory , we'll be keen to send the inferior Tigers back down to the Dales with their tails between their legs .

Shame Joe Haines is injured again , because he's been a popular guest at the Veladrome this year , whether it's been for us or against us .

Teams for tomorrow's spectacular for a tenner are -

Glasgow

1 Joe Screen

2 Mason Campton

3 Josh Grajczonek

4 Henning Bager

5 James Grieves

6 Charles Wright

7 Filip Sitera

Sheffield

1 Josef Franc

2 Hugh Skidmore

3 r/r for Sanchez

4 Richard Hall

5 Ricky Wells

6 Chris Schramm

7 Adam McKinna

Weather forecast looks fine for tomorrow , so they're be no rain off / sun off / anything off tomorrow . Any Sheffield fan fancying to make the trip up can do so with confidence this time , but not of a win of course .

Weather brightning up nicely . So no excuses not to get to the track today , it's only a tenner and for that you get to enjoy the majesty of Joe Screen . The excellence of James Grieves and Josh Grajczonek . The enthusiasm of Henning Bager after he wins a race , the exciting potential of young Mason Campton and the 100% effort from our reserves Charles Wright and Filip Sitera .

People are friendly and the beer is reasonably priced . So what more could one want to spend an enjoyable Sunday afternoon . Who the hell wants to pay £16 to sit through Rangers v Elgin ?, who in their right mind wants to be among a lot of DIY weirdos in B&Q ? , there's absolutely nothing decent on in our over-priced cinemas . It's maybe a bit chilly for down the coast and Newcastle v Aston Villa on SKY will be crap .

So what realistic alternative can their possibly be ? get yourselves to Ashfield .

SKY are ignoring the delights of Newcastle v Aston Villa, instead they plumping for Southampton v Man Utd,even more of a reason to get your backside trackside up at Ashfield.
