Edinburgh V Ipswitch Ko Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg (12/10-12)

Recommended Posts

I really hope the weather doesn't ruin this meeting.

For the first time in a long while I'm genuinely looking forward to a meeting again. This year has really dampened the spirits of a lot of Monarchs fans, due to rain offs, but something about the KO Cup, the return of Cookie, the return of Ipswitch after the last meeting when all sorts of antics were on show and emotions ran high. All these factors have me excited again for the upcoming meeting and I just hope it doesn't let me down.

Can Edinburgh pull back 20 points. I'm my opinion yes they can. With Craig Cook back leading the team, young Joe having another another week to get fully fit and with Armadale specialists of Mathew and Theo in the middle order pulling back 20 points is not incomprehensible.

However it will take all the monarchs to be going at their best, including Marcel if we have any chance.

Even without Dak the Witches will be confident of holding on but it is in no way a foregone conclusion. The Monarchs have shown time and time again they can be formidable at home.

The first 5 heats may well set the tone and the Witches need to be no more than 6 down at this point to put the pressure on the home side.

The Witches to hang on - just!!

No, weather is clearing from south during morning. Heavy overnight, lighter and then dry before noon. It's on!

Hope you are right and the Monarchs overcome their 20 point loss from 1st leg

Suggest you revisit whatever source you used for an update, - have you been looking at Aberdeen instead ?

Yup, the Norwegian site which Ole Olsen reckons is the most accurate for Northern Europe, confirms your post.

I think ipswich will do a pretty good job of trying to throw this away, and will lose by 20

Agree.......North has been our best rider for weeks now, R/R will not produce what he might have. Rain could well be our saviour here, season was basically finished when we lost those matches at home earlier in the year. Over and out, good night Vienna

I'm two miles from the circuit and although the rain has stopped, they are going to have to go some to get this meeting on, although Doc Bridgett and his track staff have surprised me before. They will be doing their utmost to get the meeting on. We really need a big blast of sunshine.

Beautiful day down here in Suffolk - I hope the sun has reached Edinburgh by now also.

Whatever the result would be best to see it won and lost on a well preparedtrack rather than a weather affected lottery.

Up the Witches!!

Looking back to the league meeting, Cook is back for the Monarchs but his replacement Summers scored 14 last time, Tully, Pjiper and Wethers scored 9 each. Sneddon should improve on his 3 points. Depends how many more the Monarchs reserves be able to score more than the paid 6?

For the Witches, Lanham and Tungate only scored paid 9 but Risager will do well to score another 12. The reserves scored 10 and Poole and North 13 combined. Looks about right so will be close one, just depends on r/r
