"One camera and a bloke in a booth" I think he is thinking of Europorn rather than Eurosport

From what info I can get it is likely to be be on par with Polish league coverage with a 8-10 camera production in HD with OB facilities provided by Rekord from Czech republic

What doesn't seem Clear is whether British Eurosport which we get in UK will take this coverage

Did Pearson and Tatum actually attend every GP venue. I thought they also did some commentary from a studio in Isleworth, just down the corridor from Mr Huewen and guests.?!

It certainly sounded like it sometimes, you could well be correct about that.

Don't talk cobblers: why would it be a single camera?

Eurosport "took a feed" from the Olympics - it didn't look like a home movie. Africa Cup of Nations on now. Looks fine.

Sky take a feed of every Grand Prix bar Cardiff. They choose to send what they think passes muster as a commentary team. But the pictures wouldn't change.

Who would film UK EL speedway if Sky pulled out allowing Eurosport to take it?

Eurosport would need a feed to take and show. Doubt it wouold happen.

THET have attended all GPS for at least the past two years

As pointed out before, Sky actually take the world feed commentary - other than at Cardiff and SWC events - provided by BSI.

There's the rub. Whoever takes over EL coverage has to take on the expense of filming the matches and as we saw last year the weather causes a few to be called off causing SKY, and whomsoever takes over, a headache in lost outlay.

To even approach SKY coverage would involve a lot of investment and Eurosport, The BBC, ITV or even Disney surely would not invest that much in a sport which attracts hundreds to live matches and has a viewing figure in thousands.

take British Superbikes, Eurosport do all the filming, its well presented good commentators, not great presenter but you cant have everything.

How is this possible? British Superbike riders do not get prize money, this is put towards filming to riders/teams can attract sponsors.

BSI/BSPA etc. need to PAY Eurosport to cover the Elite League for a season, attract a sponsor for the league and instead of it going to the teams, it offsets the cost of the production.

I agree entirely with you on that one (which may be a surprise :-) )

The BSPA would need to show a proactive nature to get the cash in. They could start with an exciting approach to a predominantly British series of meetings, giving riders overlooked in favour of crap continentals.

Oh hang on, that couldn't happen.

CORRECT ... two Aussies, one of whom was Steve Johnson, did the world feed from there while N&K were in the Isleworth studio.

So how big is the audience at live Snooker,,Badminton,Squash, Ice Hockey or Darts.. So of these are in their hundreds .Cricket is not exactly full for league matches either nor are the Division One and Two Football matches

One would assume that indoor sports cost less to produce and with no risk of rain'offs!!!

Cricket and Championship/Division 1 Footie still get good audiences, presumably.

Maybe we could see Julian Ryder back as the presenter...he's on Eurosport and always enjoyed his chats when he did Speedway in the 1990's before Nigel and kelv took over.....he was the male Suzi Perry legging up and down the pits

It's a fair point as I once attended a cribbage match and there were less than 10 people there.

But I would wager than more people KNOW what Snooker,Badminton,Squash, Ice Hockey, Darts and even cribbage is than have heard of speedway nowadays. Let alone where to actually go and watch it :(

The point being that sadly speedway is a minority sport even among minority sports and nobody is going to put any decent effort money wise into covering it once SKY ride off into the sunset.

Another good point that works against speedway :(
