Sheffield V Leicester League Cup Decider Thurs 11.04.13

Recommended Posts

A more than an 10 point home win is required by Sheffield to take them through to the semi-finals. A 10 point home win will leave both teams exactly level on both match points and on for and against race points. If Leicester can win or avoid defeat by more than 9 points then it will be Leicester who go forward to the semi finals.

Not quite true see below, this is from the BSPA website, Sheffield only need to win by 7 to go through.

LEAGUE SCORING SYSTEM

Home loss by any amount of points = 0

Home draw = 1

Home win by between 1 and 6 points = 2

Home win by 7 points or more = 3

Away loss by 7 points or more = 0

Away loss by 6 points or less = 1

Away draw = 2

Away win by between 1 and 6 points = 3

Away win by 7 points or more = 4

As the league stands, Leicester have 6 points and Sheffield have 4

If Sheffield make the track similar to last time Leicester were in town, and they'd be daft not to, then i'd say an absolute whalloping in the offing. I think Bjerre may be one of the few people to give Stead a go around Owlerton and whereas none out of Nieminen, Doolan & Blackbird look fast enough at the mo they will try and mix it a little. I can't see Graversen & Karlsson doing much and I honestly couldn't see last years version of Nielsen troubling the scoring around Owlerton let alone the one we've seen this year so far, whose confidence is completely shot.

I think Sheffield by 14+

Mick.

Quite right. I retract my post.

I know I'm not good at predictions.

But, I think Leicester will struggle at Sheffield. I hope we can keep it close and I'm looking forward to seeing a good meeting.

And I was hoping that you would be predicting a big Leicester win. :D

Well if it's anything like the Sheffield v Scunthorpe match you are going to be completely out of luck on a gater's paradise track.

What? Where were you watching from?

Great to see people from Argentina on here. Truly an international forum these days.

Welcome all the Argentina fan's. Frank is doing quite well at the moment. Imo will only get better, he is becoming very popular with the Tigers fans. Great to watch. Thursday should be a good meeting I think the tigers will win with plenty in hand. 10+ winning margin.
