Glennylion 89 Posted June 28, 2013 Load the vans quick. Hemsley just turned up!!! There will be one hell of a session if last week is anything to go by. 12 up after 8 last week and then get 8 points in last 6 rides this week, especially with the main body of the team taking all 4 r/r. The back stretch sacrifice again. Good job reserves were decent.
skthecat 90 Posted June 28, 2013 Sounds like (if updates are correct) our main men had a few bike issues tonight? Kauko & Kev...... Also sounds like Adam Ellis and Branford had very decent meetings.... Oh well, I feared we might get a proper hammering tonight, and we were still in it upto heat 10/11. Dakota North doesn't ride for a Premier League team normally, does he? He is Peterborough rider...? Should have said [ Is Dakota North a Peterborough rider ] not he is.. scotchopper 312 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Leicester were unlucky tonight and probably deserved a point, were on course to get at least that until a disaster in ht10. Nieminen's bike stopped on the 2nd bend and he impeded Doolan forcing him onto the centre green. He got going again and started chasing but was excluded, not happy and stared out the ref at the end of the race wanting a rerun. What looked like at best a 3-3 for monarchs ended a 5-0 and put us ahead for the first time. We then woke up and kicked on but got lucky again in ht14. Doolan was comfortably ahead and stopped gifting a 5-1 and the 3pts. They would have struggled to beat cookie and claus but doolan would have been in ht15 and you never know. We'll take it though. Max was unlucky in ht2 and 8 both times an opposing rider locked up in front of him so he deserved his luck for the win when doolan broke down. Claus deservedly man of the match, his new merchandise looks good as well. Edited June 28, 2013 by scotchopper
Mr Blobby 2,650 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Good tight match even though the racing wasn't that great tonight. Good fight back by the boys in blue & gold to earn all the points after a poor start. Max didn't have the best of nights along with Theo but the rest done enough to make the comeback. Claus has really got he knack of the place the last few weeks and is now looking fast and smooth which is good to see. For the visitors Kauko started off well and faded, Dollan being the pick of the bunch for the lions as he always rides our place well. Branford and Ellis were impressive to start with as they were getting out of the gate very well but then faded a little. Was good to see a decent amount of Lions fans up tonight they were making a good amount of noise even though a didn't understand what they were saying! haha Edited June 28, 2013 by Mr Blobby

cyclone 943 Posted June 28, 2013 Until heat 10, the Lions looked on course for a win, with their reserve duo of Ellis and Branford being particularly impressive. The self destruct button then seemed to be hit by Leicester and the Monarchs ended winning by a flattering 15 point margin. This was Beach Party Night and it would appear more effort was devoted to providing a sandy beach, rather than a grippy track to suit the home side Apparently when a guest rider recruited from the EL is used, if he has a recent (within 1/2 years earlier ?) PL average, then this will apply, instead of an EL to PL conversion. Hence why North replaced Karlsson. With all riders eligible to cover the absent Bjerre's rides, this looked a good deal, but ended up yielding only 3 points. However this was counterbalanced by the 7 points the impressive Adam Ellis notched, which I doubt Edberg would have emulated. With Ellis back here next week with Ipswich in the PL League Cup semi, another stiff test looks certain, and the home Promotion must ensure that a grippy track is prepared to suit the home boys and also to provide better entertainment for the fans.

It would seem that once more using the piss poorly written rulebook to ones advantage now allows 1 rider to spend a whole year guesting at pl level on their final 2012 pl average should it be advantageous to do so, irrespective of how they ride or score in the EL, due to the loophole in 17.2.5. That rider being Dakota North. still not sure the validity of this though as 18.3.1 clearly states a pl team can use an el rider as a guest but its on his converted el average. Having looked at the rules now, I'm sure they were interpreted wrongly last night. Your comments are exactly right. I'm sure 17.2.5 is intended to be used when a rider has ONLY EL and PL averages from the previous season, ie doesn't yet have a current season's average. Of course that is not spelt out. 18.3.1 is clear cut and much more sensible. As it happens the outcome wasn't much affected but it needs to be clarified right away. Mr Blobby 2,650 Posted June 29, 2013 So what was the strop on the Chatzone all about when the Golden Child got excluded by the " Weegie " ref ? It was because max and Derek where right on the wheel of Branford going into turn 3 and Branford pulled a bit of a locker causing max to straighten up to avoid him and graversen then fell trying to avoid max.
