orion 7,615 Posted February 17, 2014 I don't he actually said it was cheating but merely pointing out that it is open to abuse. For example, let's say a #1 who doesn't particularly ride Lakeside very will is "injured" in his first ride and his subsequent rides are then taken by others in the team - all of whom ride Lakeside better than the "injured" rider. I would like to think that team's wouldn't blatently cheat - but it has happened in the past where rules are bent slightly/a lot. Spot on Steve ..any rule that can be bent in speedway normally is . Barrow Boy is coming from the angle of everyone playing it fair .

And the usual suspects will no doubt be scrutinising the fixture list looking WHEN they can be bent.
Daniel Smith 5,658 Posted March 7, 2014 Kind of. Before or during the meeting if a rider is missing it's the next above and all below in the averages that can take a ride. If top or 2nd in averages, the remaining riders can replace these rides If 3rd in averages, 2nd and below can take a ride If 4th in averages, 3rd and below can take a ride and so on The only notible change from last season is R/R comes into force for a rider withdrawn from a meeting already started, removing the need for a No'8 rider Bang on the money
500cc 309 Posted March 7, 2014 Bang on the money I think there is a slight difference. R/R prior to the meeting allows rider one place above in the averages to take a ride. R/R for an injury during the meeting only allows riders with a lower average to take a ride. Makes sense as currently three quarters of the R/R rides are covered by a lesser rider average wise. With an in meeting injury you could end up with your Number 2 replaced by 1 and 3; half the R/R rides covered by a better rider average wise.
