Poole V Lakeside Challange 26/3/14

Recommended Posts

Hope this is on as all other meetings tonight are rained off. My forecast says no rain but cold, the same as Swindon tomorrow.

Poole's webmaster should be back from his hols so race updates will be resumed via the Poole twitter feed and website forum.

Last tweet 12 hours ago - not very helpful when it's a recognised and popular media outlet.

He's making a mockery of his 4 point average tonight :D

I think perhaps one or two creamed their pants about him a little prematurely after last Friday :D

Ward and Milik testing equipment?

Scarily, even with only 3 from ward and nothing form Milik, they will probably still win!

That can probably be balanced up by retirements for PK and Watt and only giving Ellis four rides. Excellent paid nine for him, the standout performance and really encouraging to see a young Brit outscoring two reserves with much more experience on their own track.

Josh has scored 8 points tonight & beat Ward(Ret), Lawson(twice), Morley, Smart, Watt(Ret), Ellis & Newman which just goes to show how a 2nd string can easily up their average in this new format.

Then of course there's Bridger.

Very cold tonight but luckily the rain stayed away and we were treated to an excellent race strip. Some very entertaining races.

Pirates were certainly testing and gave away a load of points but isn't the first meeting of the season for testing and getting equipment sorted out in competitive action?

For Poole.

Ward didn't manage a lap in his first two rides. Then was unstoppable.

Josh was very good value.

Shamek was excellent, though threw away a silly point in heat 15 by wanting to ride an inch from the fence which sucked him in in the end.

Millik had a night to forget. Didn't leave the tapes in his first, missed out compoletely in his second, forgot to turn his fuel on in his third before finally running a good second to Beck in his last,

Magic was very good.

Newman and Smart both did their job.

For Lakeside

PK started well but faded.

Lawson got a heat win.

Bridger was his usual self. Lots of hanging off the bike loking good but not winning.

Beck was the best visitor by a mile. Very entertaining.

Watt flattered to deceive.

Ellis and Morely did their job, pretty even between the reserves.

A decent nights entertainment. Biggest pain was the program. The gates were completely wrong and need sorting asap.

The gates were wrong in the programme because the programme editor was not advised of them til after it went to print.................
