IF the Bees can get anything out of this then I think we can start thinking about climbing the table. On paper its a certain Hammers win but lets see how determined the Bees are .

Ellis missing is a big plus for the Bees, gaining a point is certainly possible.

Lakeside is a trick track so going to hard for Bees. Did well at Poole and Swindon though so you never know

Steve Worrall is having a good season so far and certainly was an adequate guest for us against Wolves on Monday night, but whether he can get as many points at Lakeside as Adam would have I'm not entirely sure.

I'm sure Steve will give it 100% and should hopefully score quite well, although Ben Morley's home form really has been improving so it won't all be on Steve's shoulders.

It will seem strange going to Lakeside on a Saturday! I look forward to seeing the Bees ride and it'll be interesting to see Fricke around Lakeside.

It's not a trick track as far as Hans is concerned. he has had some very good scores there, especially with Swindon. Bomber has also had some good scores but it depends which head he has on. Looking forward to seeing those two in action. Garrity is familiar with Rye House so he should be OK and Ryan Fisher has guested for the Hammers in the past so he knows his way round reasonably well and historically the Bees have usually done pretty well there in recent years.

The big question is whether Lakeside will do their usual trick of building up a decent lead then letting it all drift away.

Fingers crossed they're learning a new trick! Definitely something we need to work on.

Ellis is good but been dropping a lot of points at home through falls etc so Worrall could score along the same lines as him.

Even at this stage of the season, these two matches are important. Kings Lynn are nailed on for the playoffs so it's vital Bees do well against the likes of Lakeside, Poole, Belle Vue and Eastbourne. I do think our hopes have improved by Adam Ellis' absence. Both lineups are a virtual mirror image of one another with Mikkel Bech perhaps the difference. It's winnable and I do think our top two are a match for theirs. Looking forward to it as the girlfriend hasn't been before and I haven't since the Kennett fiasco in 2011. Would be nice to win though, I have to be up at half four for work the next day. Good choice of guest by Havvy and good effort from the team since the season began has the T.M. fully justifying his return. Expect this to go down to the last heat.

I think if Cov can nick an away point tomorrow, and we can return the favour on Monday at Brandon, then that's about the most that each of us can realistically hope for. Both teams are more or less equally balanced; so home track experience will be key.

Let's just hope for two good meetings of hard (but fair) Speedway.....with this poxy weather beating neither of us over the Bank Holiday Weekend!

POINT TO NOTE: Just read on the Cov & Lakeside websites that on Saturday, it's tapes up at 7.45.......NOT the usual 8PM!!!!!!

NO team will win at Lakeside this season. In my opinion Lakeside have a team of track specialists and if Lakeside can pick up points on the road then I would fully expect Lakeside to be in the play offs.

I hope you're right - we're on 6 away points so far and I think we can definitely pick up a few more!

And if the incompetent pen-pushers at the SCB in Rugby ever get around to abiding by their own set of rules (INCLUDING the timeframe for the Appeals Process) then make that 7 points.

Back in the day Arena Essex always used to be Saturdays @7pm and the only reason the later start time was used in the week was down to the traffic so really when we do race Saturdays no reason to start that late anyway.

Should be a good meeting, must admit i am liking this new format and the fact so many of the younger riders are getting the chance to shine, Bees have a good pairing at reserve and a respectable 1-5 so i expect this one to be a close affair with hopefully a narrow home win by 6-8 points.
