Very sad news indeed.

One of the few riders you could say looked graceful on a bike.

RIP Simmo.

JUST had a call from Briggo to say that Simmo has passed away ... very sad news.

What a shame...Simmons was a rider that was at the top of the tree when I started going to speedway as a kid in the 70's ...I don't think I ever saw him that often as he was with Poole and they only came to Hyde Road once a year, and I don't think he always came as well but I regarded him highly as a rider when I was a kid........the amazing thing is that about 15 years later he became a team mate of my brother in law for a few matches at god knows what age...remarkable...I know he has his critics and isn't universally popular but at his best he was a great rider and this is very sad news indeed

So sad to hear of the passing today of Malcolm Simmons who succumbed to the serious illness he's been suffering from for some time.

It was truly an honour to have known him, worked with him, interviewed him and marvelled at his riding skills for so many many years and I'll always be grateful to him for providing me with so many wonderful memories.

R.I.P. Simmo mate - neither I nor the speedway world will ever forget you

Was a class act & one of the top riders around when I first started watching speedway. Really sad news to hear. RIP Simmo.
