I can't help but think that they'd be more credible if they were more in bed with the fans (ie those that read the Star) than the management.

They should take a balanced view - critical of the sport when it deserves it, but try to better explain to fans the realities and difficulties of running the sport.

At the moment though, there's far too much cosying up to the 'establishment' position - the Melbourne GP being a notorious example.

Never bite the hand that feeds you, SS is just a BSPA newsletter.

DO you actually read Speedway Star?

Perhaps people wouldn't so readily come to conclusions such as that if the SS made a much stronger case for the dismantling of the status quo with the BSPA, and pressed more for solutions along the lines of an independent commission?

HAVE done that many times. However, the new-look SCB which kicks in on January 1st, 2017, will adopt stronger authority over the BSPA that the previous set-up.

I give up, can you honestly expect the new SCB supremo biting the hand that feeds him, but time will tell.

IT'S not a supremo but a collective who endeavour to take a stronger grip on British speedway. Just the messenger here, time will tell.

It is worth pointing out that these are not people whose livelihood is dependent on the SCB or BSPA and who have the interests of speedway at heart. That said whether the new set up will prove more effective remains to be seen.
