bellevueace 912 Posted July 14, 2014 I just had the feeling with Tai that after winning the world title he felt compelled to ride in the EL to promote the sport as world champion, if he hadnt won the title i had the feeling he would have followed Holder and given the UK a miss, probably understandable when you look at the schedules of todays top riders. With Woffinden only scoring 4 points we really should have taken all the points but again Worrall and Cook were disappointing.
Wolfsbane 12,944 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) HAVING to fit a Polish match in between probably didn't help ... must be knackered after such a tiring and emotional night at the Millennium No Philip, just no. No more excuses. How's about using your resources to see who was the last World Champ to drop his British league average by what he has in his championship year? Maybe because the result won't support the 'isn't having a British World Champion wonderful' narrative. How long has he been under performing for Wolves now? The numbers don't lie. If he wants to concentrate on the SGPs then good luck to the bloke, no problem with that. But as long as he rides for Wolves we're entitled to expect maximum effort, we aren't getting it. It's a well used phrase in team sport, no one is bigger than the club and that includes Woffinden. Edited July 14, 2014 by Wolfsbane

Crazy robin 2,963 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) British World Champion who was brought up in Australia, speaks with an Aussie accent, goes back to Australia every winter & will return to live their when he retires. You wonder why British speedway isn't high in his priorities?. Edited July 14, 2014 by Crazy robin
Wolfsbane 12,944 Posted July 14, 2014 feel sorry for Wolves fans as the club have supported Tai in growing as a rider an yet he seems to be putting them low down on his list of priorities The happy clappers are beginning to realise what's going on now. If they start to vote with their feet the club are in a bit of trouble. Mark Loram went from 10.5 to 8.5 in his WC year at Peterborough. Just realised, another Brit! And before you mention Malta.............

Crazy robin 2,963 Posted July 14, 2014 I'm beginning to wonder if that's what Woffinden's up to It's all about Team Monster for Tai now & look at the likes of Adams, Crump etc who still performed for their clubs whilst riding in the GP series. It actually makes it worse as Tai is doing well everywhere else apart from Britain.

You wonder why British speedway isn't high in his priorities?. He's bound to have a Aussie accent having lived there since he was 5, as for going back every winter, uumm British winter or Aussie summer, thats a tough one but I recon the Aussie summer sounds better. And as for going back when he retires, thousands of brits emigrate to Aussie, their still brits though.
