Phil The Ace 2,860 Posted November 16, 2014 Apparently only 2 riders per team with an average over
castrolargh 263 Posted November 16, 2014 The big question mark for me in the EL is tge choice not to address the inequality in averages caused by last seasons format. Simply increasing the limit is just a paper over the cracks job. There will now be some teams that sign 4 heat leaders while others only have 2. Totally agree, I just couldn't quite figure how to word it , but hopefully it may lead to a stronger league.

thommo34 45 Posted November 16, 2014 No mention of what happens with doubling down riders - is that for 2 years only?. Nothing seems to have been done to reduce the number of guests? Would also like to see no rider able to ride in all 3 leagues - but maybe that's one for the NL promoters.
oldtimer 340 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) The BSPA statement says in the Premier League, in ALL two legs aggregate events there will be no tactical rides, does this mean NO tacticals in the Play Offs? If so this is a very good decision, also a good decision that you can have a guest for a rider missing due to a foreign commitment and a great decision to allow only one tactical. Although the stament says "We have listened to fans," sadly no mention of guests, we need a rule to say you can only have a guest to replace your number 1, otherwise it's R/R. The team average for Premier stays at 42.5 (any discount for British riders) which means clubs will be weakened yet again, with many having to lose a heat leader. Regarding doubling up being restricted to two years, what happens if a double up rider races say 6 matches for example, and is then injured and out for that season ? Does it still count that he has used a double up year? Edited November 16, 2014 by oldtimer

foamfence 2,917 Posted November 16, 2014 The EL issues have been broken down quite helpfully here. http://www.swindonlinksport.com/swindon_sports_news/bitesizeagm According to that, ten riders will be in the top group of the draft, hopefully that doesn't mean that two of them don't get a place. The facility for guests in place of riders with overseas commitments, seems to have been increased (bad move?). I'm pleased they are sticking with the draft and tweaking the format though. Islander15 1,065 Posted November 16, 2014 Out of curiosity if the 3 points for a home win existed this year: KL would have finished top in the EL, Berwick would have been above Ipswich & Redcar above Plymouth in the PL and no change in the NL.
2ndbendbeerhut 1,781 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Wheres the only 2 riders over 7 come from? Panthers89 1,922 Posted November 16, 2014 Says on Swindon site linked above, only in Elite League thank god. Should be allowed to do what you want with your team IMO.

2ndbendbeerhut 1,781 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Says on Swindon site linked above, only in Elite League thank god. Should be allowed to do what you want with your team IMO. But nothing on the PR from the BSPA though? Does mean that all the teams apart from Poole can keep their final 5 from 2014. Poole 1.69 over If Auty is "in" does that also mean any Brit under his ave will be allowed to be a FTR? Plus what happens to Steve Worrall with his ave of 7.54? Still lots of questions to be answered....... Edited November 16, 2014 by 2ndbendbeerhut
SCB 0 Posted November 16, 2014 Initially I thought, "great" then I looked at the averages and the 34 point limit is madness. One or two teams are going to be utterly terrible while a team or two signing the right riders could be totally dominant. Especially as they have not taken into account the fact second strings got higher average last season. Is Auty a Coventry or Birmingham asset? Scunthorpe. Arson fire 4,785 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Josh Auty in the draft is laughable!agreed, if Auty and roynon are Fast track then the likes of Howarth, cook, Lambert and R Worrall should be also... How could Auty and Royno be FT but the others expected to be in the mainbody of the team. Edited November 16, 2014 by Arson fire
