INCOGNITO 357 Posted August 22, 2015 Poole getting the pick of opponents has made it look like a Pirates and Robins final to me and that would be great viewing if it goes to the last heat at Wimborne Road. Bees need to bring in one or two 6 pointers if they are to challenge the inform teams and get Garrity fit.
Bee 26 426 Posted August 22, 2015 We need our heat leaders to step up, King and Korpie slowly going off the boil at the wrong time of the season. We would be bottom half of the table if it wasn't for Garrity. Any news on Robbo's scan, doesn't take this long for the results surely!

The point is though, despite how good Garrity was, a team cannot rely on one rider, especially a reserve.

You can't win the league/ playoffs without one star reserve, it has always been thus, look back down the recent years, Newman for Poole, Pawlicki for Coventry, Grajczonek for Poole, Lindback for Poole,, Dryml for Oxford, Ravn/Jan o Pedersen for Cradley, Svab for Ipswich etc etc
deanr1 203 Posted August 22, 2015 To be honest Garrity (& Sarj to a lesser degree) is the only reason we've been anywhere near the play offs in the last 2 years, if we'd been as unlucky in the draft as say Leicester or Belle Vue then we would have been wooden spoon contenders again as we were in 2013. Hopefully we can pull a signing out of the bag to make us competitive in the play offs, and get Garrity and King fit again. Our promotion doesn't have a great track record though, sticking with the dreadful Hansen all last season, getting rid of MJJ, signing Jamrog, and not replacing Robbo, they make some strange decisions that's for sure. I think Barker or Howarth is the best we can hope for.
hadley7864 224 Posted August 22, 2015 Poole and Swindon will be falling over themselves to get top place so they can choose us the way the team is at the moment. We got three more meetings v Swindon and I cant see us getting a point out of them at the moment. So we should get 6 more with the meetings v lakeside and Leicester. So I see us finishing third. Got to make a change or two or forget it in the play offs.
Daniel Smith 5,647 Posted August 23, 2015 Coventry fans need to wake up and smell the coffee, and fast. This is starting to look like the management are intent on taking as much cash as possible knowing the stadium is to close it's doors very soon with no new home. Then they'll be looking for another club in the mire "to save".
