Guest Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I was at New Cross Stadium for: - April 17, 1946 - official speedway restart after the closure in 1939 for the war years. (A couple of open meetings were held in mid-1945). Good Friday, April 16, 1954 - the start of stock car racing in the UK. August 19, 1959 - the restart of speedway after the 1953 closure.
