Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?

Recommended Posts

However, the point I am making is that England have qualified for the last five WCs, despite foreigners "flooding" the leagues and qualification being arguably harder now than in the 70s, when there were less foreigners in the England leagues AND we failed to make the WC finals twice.

You can't draw any conclusions between the 70s and now. World Cups only had 14 qualification places (given the hosts and holders qualified automatically), and whilst there were fewer competitive nations around in that era, most of the best teams were still to be found in Europe. Nowadays with 31 places up for grabs, it seems just about any mediocre nation can qualify.

It would be fair to say that whilst England does regularly qualify for World Cup, it has underachieved down the years. You'd put the English League in the top 4 or 5 in the world, yet we have a solitary World Cup success to show for it. By contrast, Brazil has won 5, and Germany and Italy 4 each. Even the great historical underachievers Spain not only managed one World Cup, but three European titles as well.

The point is thou England have still put out good teams and great players even as a collective they not done very well ....Same as I said in other sport if you good enough your make it Foreign players won't stop that and it's just poor reason for us not doing well .

England has had good players but they lack technique at the highest level = probably because we play at 100 mph in the UK

how many English players have had long and succesful careers abroad?

No English players need to go abroad ....as nearly all the top payers are in England ...Beckham Gerrard ,Rooney lampard etc have always had great technigue hence why they have played at the highest level ...England problem has always been more in the mind than there Ability .

At the risk of offending by bringing this thread back to earth, has everyone who we think should be granted a visa now arrived and is ready to go?

I see in todays Speedway Star that Hayley Perrault a 17yr old American girl will be having a spin at Birmingham next week.

isn't this one of the things that was frowned upon by the authorities
