Polish Promotion/relegation Sunday 4th October

Recommended Posts

This is what puzzles me...If Daugavpils "can't" be promoted, and Grudziadz are definitely relegated, why are Ostrow competing with Rzeszow for the rights to be in the Ekstraliga next year? Surely the Ekstaliga won't reduce to just 7 teams, so will Ostrow get promoted whether or not they beat Rzeszow as a second choice candidate after Daugavpils? As things stand after the first leg, so what if they did? BUT theoretically, supposing that they do beat Rzeszow on aggregate, they can only get promoted once but they effectively relegate a second team....then what happens?

I don't know and as I have said before, Ostrow have previously have doubts whether or not to accept a possible promotion. However IIRC and IF the translations were correct

I got the impression of that Grudziadz might be offered to remain in Ekstraliga.

So it seems that Daugavpils are interested in riding in Ekstraliga next season but apparently, according to Daugavpils, the interest is not mutual.

Polish media are reporting that Daugavpils will NOT be in the Extraleague in 2016 -Rybnik and Ostrow have been sounded out to whether they are interested in competing in the Extraleague.

"Old news": ;) I doubt Ostrow will be interested, they have announced before that Ekstraliga costs too much and their "effort" the past Sunday only strengthens that suggestion.
