and those who have achieved the required average may well not compete???

If the standard is deliberately diluted to game the system, the body responsible for sponsoring the visas should alter their criteria to take this into account.

If the statement is true they won't be the first team to receive duff info from high ranking officials within the sport.

What was it?

"Find some sand, then dig a big hole, one big enough to fit the whole of your head in it, put your head into the hole and then never, ever, pull your head out of it again"....

"Should you ever by mistake raise your head out of the hole, just utter these words"..

" Arrrrrhhhhh, but this is speedway mate"...

"This is the 'catch all/get out of jail card' which can be used to explain any situation away"

Always seems to work doesn't it???

Shambles..... and that is why I am considering abandoning this once great sport of ours after supporting for 30 odd years... yes Ty could be taking up the post of a British rider but he was exciting to watch and never gave up in a race... some young Sheffield supporters now denied to see their favourite rider......... who has lost here? the borders agency or British Speedway?

Also, would be interesting to know what the criteria is in the British Superbike Championship cause there are Foreign, Aus/USA riders there?

The passing the buck hypocrisy of blaming a "high ranking officials". They need to grow some and accept they screwed up by believing they could cheat the system. Instead we will have a stack of people trying to work out who that high ranking official is. The oldest trick in the book; screw up and point the finger elsewhere!

I notice they don't have the cojones to blame the BSPA, the usual direction in which the finger is pointed; which begs the question did they seek or ignore the advice of the BSPA?

Will the BSPA management committee have the 'cojones'to tell us how the vote went and who voted what on their discretionary decision as to whether Ty Proctor stays or goes.

isn't it the case that they followed the BSPA advice which was miseading ??? or that misleading advice was given by the BSPA ??

either way .. the only 'legal binding' advice is from UKVI

It's nothing to do with the management committee. The UKV&I say he has to have a 7 point average, he does not have a 7 point average.

I'm just going with what the article in this weeks Speedway Star (page 3) says, not being privvy to anything else.

Seems to be still some people struggling with the concept of the rules regarding the 'right to work in the UK'...

So I will try and make it simple..

If any of my 20 plus employees who require a 'visa' to 'live and work in the UK' are found by any of the relevant govt. agencies to be found working for me outside their agreed criteria, I can face a fine of £20k per employee and a possible jail sentence and they get sent 'home' as they no longer have the 'right to live and work in the UK'...

It is MY responsibility to seek out the details from the govt. agencies re the criteria under which they can work for me and MY responsibility to ensure they do not move one iota away from that agreed criteria...

No one else is responsible, just ME...

Ignorance, as always, is no defence....

Okay I get what you are saying.

But why then did the BSPA appoint someone as specialist advicer?

Lets face it, we are never going to find out exactly what happened, so think people need to live with it rather than debating and arguing who is at fault for ever more. It's happened now, we need to move on and support the promotion and more importantly the team

Dave Bereford's piece in tonight's program sums it up a treat! Live and learn and keep an eye on your enemies...
