SCB 0 Posted May 24, 2015 Did anyone notice Bombers engine in his last ride last night? He was using the new engine from tuner Marcel Gerhard.

SCB 0 Posted May 24, 2015 Agreed. Scored a point on it and I thought he looked reasonably fast considering it's the engines first competitive action.

sommelier 1,118 Posted May 24, 2015 AshTech is just a tuner, not an engine Emil was testing it a couple of years ago!

PHILIPRISING 7,298 Posted May 24, 2015 THERE will be a full report on the new engine in SS shortly. Designed by Marcel Gerhard, Kelvin Tatum has had a massive input, and being built by Sutec AG in Switzerland. Â Obviously created a lot of interest in the Marketa pits over the weekend. In essence, the aim is to be as competitive as GMs but to run for around 20 hours between services. That's a lot of races. Compare this with Jarek Hampel GMs which, he said, do just 15 heats. Â But it is not an engine specifically aimed at the top echelon of riders. Far from it. It will come fully built, not in kit form like a GM. The potential scale of economies available to bread and butter riders is quite significant.

Could make a massive difference for NL and PL standard riders.

weatherwatcher 664 Posted May 24, 2015 Iy sounds like the new engine could easily become a firm favorite with riders in the PL and NL who have to run on a tight budget. If this is priced corectly, they could easilt take a lot of trade from the other companies that are making engines al be it that Jawa have now lost a lot of trade to GM With all the testing being done, the engine should at least be a reliable and practicle offering to the speedway world.
