Sadly I see the Rebels hitting 60 tonight, although it would be good for the Tigers & their guest to make the starts & provide some passing opportunities for the on-fire Rebels.

Now that is confidence.

or arrogance

Major capitulation from heat 8 onwards after holding our own in the first half off the meeting .

Or maybe Somerset just upped it a couple off gear's, thought we would have put up a better fist off it than that but well done Somerset on the comprehensive win.

A right royal pumping handed out by the PL's best team. Morris would have helped us over 40 but that's about it.

A hammering, was expected though to be honest

As MD says Nick wold have scored more than r/r. Also didn't help that our guest Thomas jorgensen - thanks for taking the booking - managed to fall foul of the obsession that refs have of trying to catch riders out at the tapes. Funnily enough his score last night for Sheffield helped us more than his score tonight

A thumping win for the Rebels. Glasgow kept them honest for the first half of the meeting before Somerset found their gating gloves.

For the Tigers, Lawson looked good initially before fading, suffering recurring mechanical problems. Summers looked to have found some speed mid meeting, before he faded too. Jorgensen let the team down with his impatatience at the tapes, but otherwise looked competitive.

Kurtz once again looked in magnificent form and Leigh Lanham proved once again what an astute signing he has been with a memorable paid maximum.

The bruised and battered Charles Wright and Paul Starke provided the usual entertainment, hunting down their prey before swooping and stealing points from the back in almost all of their races.

Some good close racing, better than the score suggest

I love this post, it sums up all that I like about Somerset. I have been to quite a few tracks over the years and there is not one that delivers the entertainment achieved almost weekly down at the OTA. The Pairs the other week was brilliant with several riders having outstanding races that bought the crowd to their feet. How rare is FTG posted on the updates site for a Somerset match, occasionally you will get "Tapes go up, Rebels gate,5-1". How often as well do you get "Rebels left for dead at the tapes" then a great description of how as ER put it the Rebels"hunt down their prey". This goes right back to the days of Glen Cunningham who was comfortably the worst starter I have ever seen ( sorry Glen), who would then set about gradually getting past everyone before nicking it on the line, he didn`t always get there, but great entertainment.

Brady Kurtz continues to improve at a staggering rate with one poster from the Redcar match comparing him to Darcy Ward, with his regular guesting spot for Sheffield he must be a threat for the PLRC . What must be very pleasing for Gary May must be the form of Lanham, Wright and particularly Starke who has single handily held up the reserve part of the team all season. Well done Leigh on your paid max in this match long may it continue.
