Something needs to be done, Karger clearly is not up to the Premier League standard.

The days of beating most teams by 50 odd points at home are long gone and although the draw on Monday gave us some good racing we don't want draws and losses at home.

One of the best riders in the league-Eddie can't keep carrying the team as he has done the last three years.

Crowds will inevitably windle and the investment in the stadium will be a waste of time.

That has to be a mistake. Up until last Friday he was a 7 point assessed rider and yesterday he dropped to 3 when he should never drop below 5.

According to someone on Scunny thread, Hollubs 7 point average wasn't an assessed average

It was from when he started until last Friday according to the green sheets and also for the first 7 matches this season on the Scunthorpe web site.

That's the problem. Another year of rubbish results will just piss everyone off even more. The crowds will drift away and Ed will say goodbye. He has carried the team with rubbish around him & he thought about leaving this year as he was fed up of getting beat all the time.

The new promotion at Glasgow got results straight away. If they needed to make changes they did. They didn't sit on their hands & knees & do nothing. They showed ambition & a winning mentality.

I don't get the feeling that the new promotion at Rye are like that. They have made too many naive & strange decisions already & from the small snippets you read it seems their happy with results & performances which is worrying.

This is the reason why his official average has now dropped to 3.00. The '5 point' rule only applies to riders new to the PL in 2016. However the 4h 4a ruling still applies in calculating a true average although it is not allowed to be listed under 5.00. Therefore, once Rye House have completed their fourth away fixture at Peterborough on 15th May, Karger will no longer be on an assessed average so doesn't have to be included in a re-declaration.

So you have never heard of riders improving? Quite how you would have put up with the Rye teams of the 70's it took years to produce the great team of 1980.

I accept the current side will struggle against the majority of sides who seem to have 4 good riders and its why Rye needed strong reserves.

They can't carry Peter in the hope he will improve I'm afraid.

We're in that old familiar situation again, that's not what the regulations actually say.

The 'five point average' rule might have something to do with visas. I know that this is not directly applicable to Karger but relevant to non EU riders who now come in on five as opposed to what it has been in the past. In other words it might be conditional, and visa is no longer valid if the rider drops below a five point average. However getting back to whether or not you can sack a 'five point' rider is just my assumption but it may be he cannot be replaced by a rider on an average less than five. These are from the 2016 regulations:=

18.6.2 The Assessed MA's for new Riders to the PL racing is: Cat 1 8.00 Cat 2 7.00 Cat 3 5.00 Cat 4 3.00

18.6.2.1 No rider with an Assessed MA, other than the Category 4 rider, can drop below 5.00 at any time during the Season.

16.3.2 Riders with assessed MA’s (other than an assessed 3.00) cannot be removed from a PL Team re-declaration

16.2.7 An EL (not EDR) or PL rider starting the season with an Assessed MA will have an Established MA after 4 Home and 4 Away fixtures, becoming effective 7 days after the last qualifying Meeting. Should an Established MA not be achieved to be effective from 1 st May, then the MC may issue a revised MA, based upon actual rides if the Team re-declares.

In fact, based upon 16.2.7, Rye could re-declare now subject to revised MA. despite the fact that Karger's would have to stay at 5.00 as he could be removed now.

Probably get turned down (in the best interests of British speedway)

If everyone played fair there wouldn't have to be so many rules. Unfortunately some teams will manipulate them to gain an unfair advantage.

I think Karger may be hunting for a pen and ready to compose his resignation letter.....
