Mischief 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Hello Guys What would you guys recommend with this? I've seen 2 Jawa bikes for sale. Bike 1 has the short stroke engine, photos of bike look good but is about £700 more than bike 2. Bike 2 also looks good from photos, not much in it regarding condition wise but has the long stroke engine. I know or think in the long run the short stroke is preferred but Is it ok to use the long stroke or could I end up regretting it after a few months of riding if I took this cheaper route?? What would you go for long or short? Thanks
OveFundinFan 4,141 Posted August 16, 2015 I no expert not having ridden speedway, but I would of thought as a beginner you might be better with the long stroke on the basis the short stroke could be too revvy and you initially looking for an easier ride. Someone more qualified then I will clarify if thats right or wrong

Sings4Speedway 3,247 Posted August 17, 2015 IMO the long stroke would be absolutely fine for a beginner. They tend to respond and pull better when knocking the throttle off and then back on like you will be doing when you start riding whereas to get the best from a short stroke they really need to be held flat out all the way round. Ultimately both will be fine so buy whatever your budget permits as it is easy to over stretch yourself with speedway. (oh and if it makes you feel better I saw Tai Woffenden selling a longstroke over the winter so if its good enough for him.....)
