GI own the stadium and land around it.  They sell off chunks of the land to developers to build on.

GI  appointed a new Thai director 2 months ago Phanuthep Brarypaul. I wonder what his specialist field is ??

We need to put a line in the sand because the developer is still in breach of the previous section 106 agreement.

It would be interesting to know what this/these breaches are..

it was sign and sealed that only a certain amount houses could be built at the start intill the stadium was built ...Was that kept to ? this is  about the 15th time in the last 4 years when we had so called positive news about moving forward and every time it never happens .

When it's  built then cheer but  intill then don't go over board about a company who  have never before   kept any promises or built any stadiums . I find it amazing there are  still people out there who think Osbourne clark and co will build it .

It seems your cautious approach may be correct. With Gaming International not bothering to attend you get a feeling they're wanting to sell all the land to the builders.

Hopefully this happens, i know in Speedway Star there was photo's of new stands in storage ready for when planning was granted.

Good news for now, over to the stadium owners now to crack on.

If GamingUK is the stadium owner, and they've not exactly best buddies with the council by the sound of things, why would they want to crack on with the stadium? The carrot seems to be building more houses, but is there already a sufficient number built to enable them and the developers to now just sit back, do nothing, and start a dirty tricks strategy aimed at getting speedway kicked out altogether? This situation could just drag on for another few years

In 2015 the new s106 agreement agreed alongside the new 2015 outline planning
permission sought to further safeguard the delivery of the new stadium, amongst other
planning considerations and included the following requirements;
a)
To submit an application for reserved matters approval for the new stadium before
the defined "long stop date" and to use their reasonable endeavours to obtain planning
consent for the new stadium on or before the new stadium reserved matters planning
application long stop date; this was defined as 12 months after completion of the
agreement, namely before April 2016.
b)
That the applicant use "their reasonable endeavours to ensure and/or procure
Practical Completion of the New Stadium" on or before the defined stadium construction
"long stop date", defined as 18 months after the completion of the agreement in April 2015,
namely before October 2017.
c)
Not to occupy any additional residential units constructed on land identifie
d within the agreement (described as the "restricted zone" that is occupied by the existing stadium) until
the practical completion of the New Stadium.
d)
To make provision for a site for the Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (now the Dorset and Wiltshire
Fire and Rescue Service) for a new fire station north.
53
As described above at paragraph 15 above, although an application for reserved matters
approval for the new stadium was approved in August 2016, the works to carry out the
development did get underway and the new stadium was not completed in accordance with
the agreed "long stop date" of October 2017. The Borough Solicitor formally notified the
applicant and other parties with an interest in the land, that the failure to provide the open
space andto complete the new stadium was in breach of the s106 agreement.

He's also listed as director of 'PE168 Limited' since October which seems to be a new company selling new and used cars, and wholesale of watches and jewellery

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, never trust Clark Osborne. He was at Oxford and sold us down the river back in the middle seventies before the 'Save Oxford Speedway' and Greyhound people stepped in to save the stadium.

You would have thought now that planning permission has been granted, they would have started work by now. If that wheelbarrow and kettle turn up, can someone please let us know.

Planning permission has been granted SUBJECT TO a number of conditions.

One of these is the completion of the section 106 agreement. So probably no track work until that has been signed off.

They'd better cancel the wheelbarrow then!
