Whereabouts does Terry Russell live to be 200 miles from Swindon ?

I thought he was a London/Essex lad. That ain't 200 miles unless he avoids right turns at junctions and hitting the motorways

Don't forget the NSS infamous opening night disaster

Yes an infamous night. I was there at the NSS. A complete disaster for the sport. What a total disgrace.

Probably something to do with the name of his company - Kent Sweepers.

Nothing to do with him as far as I know. His company was Sabre Cleaning.

Yeh, Sabre was/is him, Kent Sweepers was just the sponsors i think.

Anyway, according to companies house, he's based in Gravesend.  Certainly a fair trek, but not 200 miles by any  means.

He sold out his Cleaning business pretty early on, and made a lot of money from the sale. Got the feeling that some riders close to him also worked in the company but I might be wrong.

You are both correct. When i worked at Wimbledon back in the 1980's, they were both working at the stadium for the cleaning company. They were also top riders in the old NL at the time. I wonder how many professional riders combine jobs these days.

Andy Galvin [even though he went off the rails] and Alan Mogridge were worth the admission money on their own at most tracks. Top entertainers
