Let be honest they would be able to no doubt part of there long term plan ..its amazing really get planning to build houses on the back of a new stadium being built but then the people in those houses stop it due to the noise .

Yeah this is just excuse number 7 not to build it. Sure there are a few more up their sleeve. I don't know one Swindon fan who thinks it will be built.

On the comments on the adver story there is one from a resident up there saying speedway doesn't bother him and all of his neighbours are of the same opinion.

it's amazing that such experts on planning etc always brings plans to table that are not ready or have no  chance of getting the ok from the council . What is even more amazing is that they never  made that mistake when it comes to  the building of the houses ,

I just wish club would not make comment on how great is going to be when Osborne Clark put forward yet another false plan ,the fans are fed up with it. and quite frankly  it's embarrassing .

Lets be honest here, If the Speedway stopped that would suit Gaming International, they could then move the Money making Greyhound meetings down to Poole, and stop putting on the loss making greyhound meetings, that would mean NO speedway, No greyhound racing, with an empty stadium perfect to build more houses on... Its not really rocket science what GI,s real aim could be, in fact a few brown envelopes to some nearby Homeowners may not be beyong the realms of possibility.. conspiracy or factual ?, make up your own minds but GI,s history doesnt give anyone any kind of confidence.

The new stadium would have more chance, if it was built on the site that was intended. Putting a few portacabins on the present location, is hardly a 'new stadium', especially when it comes to noise issues.

Cant help but have bad feelings about the lists of potential issues and purposely half baked statements and ideas offered.

Opportunities for support and investment have been lost to other sites in Swindon and competing stadiums in the region are now starting to draw trade away.” Is a quote from the owners. Where? Have I missed all these speedway/dog racing facilities opening up nearby? Would be a possible excuse if Reading was still there, but some one razzed that. Can’t think who.

The owners proposals include screening with trees and other barriers and also a ‘neighbour hotline’, manned during all events, to enable residents to report noise complaints directly to the stadium“. You can’t make this stuff up...or infact you actually can.

Thia is all Osbourne does, spout empty, vacuous, nonsense to slither away from scrutiny and delay things further.

All eyes on next week.

We, at Cowley,  were subjected to him during the seventies when Oxford Stadium was under threat before the SOS committee stepped in.

You only need to look at the ahem.. "untruths and misinformation" emanating from Brandon Estates to see what the sport is up against when dealing with the greedy developers.

The thing is, what happens if they don't get planning permission for the new stadium? Presumably we just carry on in the current one, which is becoming a bit of an eyesore probably.

Is there any indication that the current stadium is under threat if the new one isn't built?

I’m sure a health and safety officer would have a field day before long if they look around hard enough.

I may be wrong, but when riders were forced into using the new quieter silencers, you know the ones where someone or some organisation had a nice little earner out of it, wasn't this to ensure that noise levels were legal for health and safety, and so doing away with noise problems with planners, councils etc.

Maybe the local councillors can visit the NSS..?

The back straight stand certainly does its job as a noise barrier...

The houses that back on to the place must be no more than 75 yards from the actual track yet you can walk behind the stand during a meeting and not hear either the racing nor the sound system..

Unfortunately 'noise pollution' laws don't recognise 'who was there first', it is simply measured as being either noise pollution or it isn't when investigated....

However, I am sure if there was a will, the decibel levels hitting the estate could be kept well under control..
