Decent signing quick enough ,, And improving ,,plenty of room though for that to happen just needs more consistancy.on, and off track.IOW could suit him... Good luck to Ellis...

Great to see the Islanders back in action. Went there about 5 years ago when Newport were visiting, we were on holiday...Swindon lad Chessell rode for the IOW. Friendly little club, good stadium, crowd was under 200. Track a bit too big..hardly any passing. What sort of crowds do they need, and do they still do the special ferry offer for mainland fans?

Hi Mad Moose, there will be discount tickets for fans on the Wightlink ferries and we have just begun to speak with a bus company also. So it is in hand and once the details are confirmed they will be announced. As for crowds, well, the more the better. But we will be working really hard to gain as many fans through the gates as we can.

Can remember some great trips to the Island between 2006 and 2012, always a good place to watch the sport

I have seen some incredibly poor crowds early season, but when they used to ride the bulk of their meetings during the holiday season (sometimes twice a week) they had some very decent turnouts

Hopefully your return will be a massive success ... good luck

Hopefully the promoters can offer something similar to before. Sea cat both ways, taxi from pier to track and back again plus entry for 22 quid. Represents great value.

I love how people criticise riders off track antics, Ellis is a rider who doesn't like to get beat, and when he is he shows his frustration often with himself, Ellis is a rider who will improve will love the Smallmead Track. This is the kind of signing the IOW needed and if he can get some help and advice from fellow Aussies based on the South Coast, then he should push up to a 9+ average, he was held back last season by riding with an injury, and during one spell he did well to finish his races never mind score a point, taking that into account he is on a bargain average.
