Not only Boris to blame. All those who voted for Brexit without knowing the details or really worrying about them. In the end we saw here with Wolfie just desperate for any Brexit to be pushed through to take back control Now we are being warned of a trade war, as if we didn’t warn them 1 Share this post Link to post

Most of them fail to grasp the issue, so Boris and his gang (including the ever-more ridiculous Jack Frost) just play the jingoism card to distract attention from the fact they signed an appalling trade deal and shafted Northern Ireland along the way. Amazing that some still fall for the nonsense, but plenty still believe in pixies and fairies as well... LOL Simple fact is that two different uncontrolled customs zones don't overlap anywhere else in the world. You seriously have to wonder who is advising the UK government and the quality of that advice. 3 1 Share this post Link to post

I said this before at the time of the glorious result to leave the Brussels mafia , ergo that to satisfy the GFA they had to leave the borders open regardless. Dodgy stuff has been going across the border for years but you only seem to be be worried about it now. Typical remainer pro eu luvvie claptrap , which we are used to from you. Northern Ireland is in the EU Single Market and not in the UK Internal Market however much the Boris and the Brexit nut jobs imagine otherwise. Regardless of what went on in the past, smuggling is illegal and it doesn't mean you open a legal backdoor into another customs territory (in either direction). And that you can only resort to silly jibes just means that you're another one like Boris who doesn't understand how the world actually works. Share this post Link to post
Humphrey Appleby 11,289 Posted May 18 (edited) Well it turns out it was actually 9% during April. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/may/18/uk-inflation-soars-to-highest-level-in-more-than-40-years 1.5% above the Eurozone, so another benefit of Brexit. If we were still in the EU we still wouldn’t be in the Eurozone. We kept out of it from day one for good reason. Inflation in Europe varies by around 10% between lowest and highest so one snapshot of the average is rather meaningless unless you are going to advance the argument that we should be in the Euro and if we were we would have had significantly lower inflation over the years.
