Polish Xtra/nice Leagues/etc Live On Tv

So the Polish authorities are flexing their muscle and saying their top league riders can only race in two leagues! Talk about holding riders to ransom!

Don`t think it will last long, maybe they could put pressure on the Polish riders, who mostly do only two leagues anyway.

Obviously highly impressed by the BSPA saying that British riders can't race in the SEC. Nothing new really. The Swedish authorities flexed their muscles in the 1970's resulting in Anders Michanek & co being prevented from racing in Britain for a time.

The new rule which is suppose to take effect Nov 1 limits any rider who rides in polish Extraliga(applies to all riders regardless of nationality) to race in only 1 other league.

How can that be right, unfair on other leagues and riders who do more than two. Selfish imo, when things go titties up in Poland the other leagues will remember this rule!

After trying to follow where riders are riding this year, it seems that Polish Speedway RULES! OK! After the talks of progress in the British Leagues, there has been talk of fixed race nights, wed/thur or thur/fri when GP's allow. Then the Poles decided to race Sunday/Fridays with some Wednesday, the Swedish Leagues had to adjust and we fitted in where we could. Now they are stipulating to the riders - Polish League plus 1 other. What would happen to their squad riders that do not get regular rides. This might have a major bearing on the EGM/AGM to recruit the top riders to our league. The Swedish League might have something to say also.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't I recall that this was the intention of the FIM a year or two ago? Perhaps the Poles are the first to announce their compliance with some FIM directive that has been passed since the announcement of their intention?

By all means have a dig at the Poles if you are that way inclinded, but don't be surprised if other national bodies make similar announcements in the near future.
