mdmc82 2,878 Posted March 27, 2016 Haha . how pitiful that bees have to use double points to keep up with glasgow. It's Coventry Bees/Storm. Sarjeant is in the main team and bees using NL riders in Knuckey & Carr to replace Garrity & Bates and give them experience. Well done on the Win Bees. Sounds like a good meeting for both teams, esp after the heavy rain. Good luck to Glasgow in the PL. one of the strongest sides in it 👍🏻
MD 1,305 Posted March 27, 2016 A more than decent opener with the lower order riders providing great entertainment. Ayres looks pretty fearless and got stuck in. Refreshing not to start against the usual 0131's, hopefully we do this every year from now on. Bring on the season.
Gazc 7,089 Posted March 27, 2016 Despite the weather's best efforts to ruin it turned into a half decent meeting for a challenge match. Track improved as the meeting progressed and all 7 Tiger's contributed to an enjoyable meeting it augurs well when the serious stuff starts next week. Have to say though was really impressed with all the new boys on there never say die attitude especially Richie & Danny whilst Nike was really unlucky Iin 14 after reeling James in only to pass him on the final bend then his bike gave up the ghost. damosuzuki 696 Posted March 27, 2016 Yes thoroughlly enjoyed this and was amazed as anyone we got through the full meeting and it ended up so enjoyable. Garcia, Lunna and Ayres I have no worries about having seen them in action. And considering the appalling weather prior to the meeting, there were 1000 paid customers there + the stand was almost full. Must be the Glasgow micro economy.
Weeyin 1,020 Posted March 27, 2016 despite the weather that was an enjoyable meeting, was initially worried that we would have a long tail but after the effort all the boys put in , I am optimistic that we will be strong at home, gutted for Danny , Ben and Nikki as those points lost cost us the match
george.m 3,063 Posted March 27, 2016 It's not really a proper Coventry team though is it. Plus it's a challenge match so means nothing in effect.Really? Here was everyone else in the speedway world under the illusion it was something else. Thanks for putting us all right. Looking forward to a proper team coming to Ashfield soon when we can gauge the new Tigers. That'll be the League Cup meeting on 17th April against the Bandits.

markyb 323 Posted March 27, 2016 An absolute pleasure today to see how Speedway should be run !!! Although up in the area visiting my son for Easter, once the fixture was announced, there was no way I was gonna miss this. however, was touch and go with the weather yesterday, all that was missing was Noah and his Ark -and on / off heavy showers before and during the meeting - but hey, 100 % given by ALL riders, providing fearless attempts to gain any point they could. Bomber exceptional once again, but a good win by AS against him in his first ride. Loved the track and the banking on the bends. Any plans for the new Coventry track should take this on-board imo. Home fans were very welcoming. Plus, seeing one of the two start/flag marshalls was almost worth the admission price alone !! A massive well done to promotion and management of the stadium, where you can see investment has already paid dividends and will no doubt for many years to come. A truly family oriented place to be on a Sunday afternoon and the presentation was ultra-slick, including the Involvement with the many youngsters present, with the "balls" after heat 4 and the many in the running race against Roary on the centre green at the interval. The giving of an Easter egg to the children on entry was also well received by My 10 year old daughter. Pity I can't be here next Sunday for the derby against Monarchs. I will be back though !!
mac101 1,187 Posted March 27, 2016 Coty did really well 5+1 just struggled to get out the gate with have the worst gates in his races 1and 4 where most riders struggled fans were happy with his performance today

screm 8,050 Posted March 27, 2016 Think Coty will do well for you hopefully he will be on better machinery glad you got through the full meeting. How did Liam go ? Agree with this, young Garcia showed at times last season he had the ability but not the equipment, mounted on better gear he could be a trump card for Glasgow. george.m 3,063 Posted March 27, 2016 Think Coty will do well for you hopefully he will be on better machinery glad you got through the full meeting. How did Liam go ? I was surprised with Coty having seen him last year and then on some FB movies from Ashfield recently where he seems to start by going back on the bike rather than putting his weight forward. Seemed to be on the pace most races. If he can perform at home we'll forgive his away performance, assuming that might not be of a similar standard. Liam had a good ht2 finishing ahead of Coty and Knuckey. His only other point was due to Lunna's EF.
Pogo1 288 Posted March 28, 2016 Good opening meeting with both sides giving it a real go, Glasgow gave a good account of themselves though errors in heat 12 when we gifted Bees a 5 0 and young Lunna running out of fuel in heat 14 as he drew level with Sarjeant was the reason the Bees edged it, Coty Garcia should have his own engine next week after a mix up with his order, thanks to Ryan McDonald for helping him. Lawson pretty good as usual Worrall great debut Barker 6 points won't have pleased him Lunna should have been paid 9 Summers same as Lawson Ayers great debut Garcia again decent for his first match

Glad Lunna had his faux pas in a Challenge match, suppose that's why you have them.
