Cycle Speedway In Poplar, London

Does any one have more information about a cycle speedway track in Poplar, London, E14? It seemingly operated in the early 1950s.

Bit before my time, Gustix, and I only raced on one London track and that was in 1964 - Raynes Park. Rode in the National Junior team championship. Two Manchester teams, Hyde and Belle Vue. I rode for Belle Vue and despite being favourites we lost by 2 points. Straight after I rode in the junior individual championship and despite not being favourite I won it with 13 points, beating Chris Hunt of Wembly and Paul Rennie from Gorton Manchester - they were the two favourites..
