Superb stuff, although for me the race of the season is still Heat 15 against Glasgow, with Ryan going from 4th to 2nd to 4th to 3rd (I think!!)

Did that average include bonus points which now they don't count now??🤔

averages included bonus points up to and including the end of the 2005 season. at that point, they were then 'netted off' and the new figures produced (without bonus pts) for the start of the 2006 campaign.

 

 

PS Mr cyclone - the difference between the team declarations and the green sheets were to do with team changes. the October 2009 lists show Edinburgh as being the same as the end of year green sheets due to us signing Kalle Katajisto (replacing Byron Bekker) at such a late stage that both he (and, obviously, the team) didn't ride in any meetings which were included in those numbers (remember Cup finals, play-offs, etc. are excluded).

 

similarly, at the point when Glasgow last re-declared that season, Mitchell Davey had a 4.23 average. this may have been in July, August, whenever. and, by the end of the year, he was down to 3.77, as per his green sheet.

 

I have no idea as to whether the 'never having achieved an actual PL MA of 4.00 or above' is defined by end of season averages or simply at any point during any season. "never" to me means "never ever" but this is the BSPA we're talking about!

 

I suspect there'll be a coin toss to decide upon this one. my money's on heads

May (i.e. meetings until April 23rd) 4.57 - actually not sure if this one is enough meetings to gain a new average

July 4.23 (at this point, Glasgow redeclared with William Lawson in the side, hence the figure on the team declarations page - thanks King Jamie for that tip)

August 3.92 (the figure in the Scunny programme)

September 3.93

October and final 3.77.

 

Proof that Mitchell Davey's Green sheet average was definitely greater than 4.00 for a good chunk of the 2009 season (on top of the fact that he started 2008 on an assessed 5.00 figure!!!).

Hope they have to rerun the meeting with the inclusion of Bewley if the appeal is upheld much better to decide the winner on track rather than in an office.

 

Seems to me a bit strange so many posters implying Davey was too good a guest, when the normal opinion is he's not good enough to compete at this level.

Two days on and reflecting on Sundays brilliant racing and every bit as good as I thought it was !. Infact it's better than I thought. You will never see a non passing race as good as that one, Even if you turned up at a track every night at a speedway for the next 100 years.! All four riders were almost in unison going round and it was blanket stuff all the way. Look beyond the final result 44-45 (subject to stewards enquiry-Mitch Davey?).

 

There were no losers at Scunny on Sunday only winners if you were there. Scunthorpe Speedway the track that just KEEPS ON GIVING !
