Any thoughts/reasons as to who should represent England next week?

My understanding is that the reserve has to be under 21 and can only ride if there's an injury? can anyone confirm this?

I think that ruling affects the reserve choice?

My preferred starting line-up

1.Tai

2.S. Nicholls (home track knowledge/experience)

3.C.Cooke (as above, but also a very good gater)

4.S.Worral (as above )

5.R.Lambert

I'm guessing most fans will opt for Harris and King ?

Lambert/Haris/King are way too slow out the start for this level of racing! IMO

Lambert is our 2nd best rider and 5 rides away from being in the GP series so he will certainly be in it. Also gating doesn't mean so much at Belle Vue!

I'd go for

Tai Woffinden

Robert Lambert

Craig Cook

Danny King

Josh Bates/Adam Ellis (reserve)

Any injuries between now and the meeting Chris Harris replaces them.

Scott Nicholls hasn't performed well at Belle Vue this season and Steve Worrall has no experience at all at this level so don't think he will make it either.

Nicholls is struggling more than any of the other riders you listed on his home track and hardly scoring.

Worrall has done well but it's very different racing mainly against reserves & 2nd strings to racing against top GP riders.

Belle Vue is more of a racers track than a gaters track.

I think there are already several threads open on this topic

Calling the team Great Britain may be a pain to some people but I'm Welsh and if it was England well to say my interest would not be the same to say the least. I may be being pedantic but I sure some Scots etc feel the same.

Awaits flak.

Big call in No Harris, I'd of gone with Bomber over King, but we shall see, nice to see something different though.

Ells is the right call for Reserve.

The best team as I see it as everyone is riding well. The final will be a lottery anyway so you never know we might get a medal, or even win it - remember Australia (76), Denmark (78) New Zealand (79) no-one would have backed the countries to win the World Team Cup against such a powerful England team, but we didn't even make the the final in 1976 & 1979 so who knows what might happen come Saturday week, at Belle Vue.

Got to agree I think its a great team and I think they could get a medal Saturday week. Time will tell but you know all the riders there will be racing flat out from tapes up to the checkered flag and as Danny King showed in the British Final the Belle Vue track is a real racers track. ......... COME ON TEAM GB
