Why does a tinpot cup take priority over a league fixture vs the Panthers?

It's a league match as well. If you read the post properly you would've realized that

from Edinburgh site

The Cases Rebels were, initially, unsure about coming to Scotland on Friday as they will be without some of their riders due to an Elite League fixture at Lakeside but their team manager, Garry May, is now convinced that he can put together a team to do them proud.

Initial thoughts that Glasgow would be the visitors were quickly dashed as they have riders missing that would not have been covered by a facility.

Matches against Glasgow and Peterborough have still to be arranged.

so could be 2 guest and RR

When they say doublig up I assume it is only one match with score counting for both ??

Are TRs allowed in Premier Shield? If not you could have a rider on a TR for the league match but not Shield and have two different scores ongoing!! Only in speedway

Certainly going to be a strange looking team that Somerset bring to Edinburgh, with Swindon at Lakeside they will be without Tungate, Wright and Grajzconek. Don`t know the fitness of Dan Bewley but Belle Vue Colts have a NL meeting at Coventry this Friday and as this is a re-arranged fixture will Coventry have first call on his services, should he be fit to ride.

You are correct in your suspicion that no TRs are allowed in the Premier Shield - Art 18.13 A TACTICAL RIDE (TR) tide (NB. Not applicable in any PL two-legged aggregate tie).

Therefore the scores in the meeting on 17 August at Somerset should read

Premier Shield : Somerset 57 Edinburgh 32

Premier League : Somerset 57 Edinburgh 35

That sounds like a huge blow to the lad and to his teams.

But health trumps everything else.

Needs to get himself fully recovered however long it takes.

They have taken his provisional driving licence away for 3 months also so can't get behind the wheel of a car either hard rider to replace for the rest of the season

The lads got a long successful career ahead of him if all goes well so if he's not 100 % he should follow doctors advice and comeback strong next year

Maybe because your side doesn't want to come up on Friday.
