To be fair, with the old heat format heat leaders had 8-10pt averages, so it made sense that a GP rider would come in on 8pts. Now with the new format heat leaders have 7-9pt averages, so it makes complete sense that a GP rider would come in on 7pts.

 

The issue is that nobody from the BSPA is communicating the reasoning to the fans, and that's why people are assuming the worst.

Extending your 'logic' of 7-9 for heat leaders then and a GP rider being in this band perhaps it would be more plausible for the top end to be 9 the bottom to be 7 and those in the middle 8.

 

Lindback in 8th would be an 8... makes complete sense to use your own phrase.

when hancock came to ride for poole he hadnt ridden here for many yrs and his average wasnt reassessed ...also miedzinski came to poole on a ultra low 5 point average he hadnt ridden here for years and had since improved quite a bit but his average wasnt reassessed

I am loving the fact you are so pi55ed off by it. What did Swindon do this season? Nothing. When they could have made changes they didn't. At Poole riders know they have to perform, and that's what makes Poole the most successful team in the modern era.
