Did It Backfire

Recommended Posts

It didn;t so much backfire as completly blow up. For all the swaping and changing of riders, it all turned a very nasty shade of Purple for the tonight. The best team won.

Tungate was expected to well out score BP

After Lindback's poor showing at Poole, one would expect RR to score at least the same, given everyone can take a ride.

No. The risk of signing a foul mouthed, badly advised rider who had turned his back on British speedway worked out just fine for wolves.

That result probably cost Matt more money than he'll want to know, the Poole mob might have bottomless pockets, but when it comes to man management and tactical knowhow, Wolves did em up like a kipper.

Thinking he was being cute signing Buz, relying too much on the heat format and reserves popping in and out of the main body for points too heavily, not signing Lindback or A.N. other earlier when it was clear they weren't strong enough in the middle.

Persevering with Holder at #1 who is fantastic when he's comfortable, not so much when he doesn't like it.

Ford having a public dig at own riders for moaning about a crap track.

Persecution complex - I get the feeling they won't listen to anyone coming from a different angle as they fall into the bracket of 'Poole haters'.

Ford being unwilling for whatever reason to track top British riders.

Yes definitely Lindback was a disaster of a signing.

Possibly.

There is also the real probability that the injuries/withdrawals of Andersen/Pedersen and Lindback seriously dented the Poole side given the previous of all 3 around Wolves (all typically perform better there than their replacements/guests/RR)

All of that, and there is of course the other thing, Wolves have a pretty good side.

For all the talk of Poole cynically dragging the sport down, there are a few on here who are just as, if it not more guilty of it/cynical than anything than Poole supposedly get up to…

No the biggest choke in play-off history was when Harris & Coventry took Poole apart on their own track in 2010. Edited by DunRobin

Saw holder a couple of times when he came onto the track to talk to a rider, he seemed to be limping preety badly on his left leg, think that bit crash he had is now taking its toll on him. There is only so much damage the body can take.

No that was when Wolves won the 2009 title.
