I understand that three FIM Flat  Track events are scheduled for this month - they may even have started. Details in regard to them would be appreciated.

You may search the F.I.M. Website  http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/sport/flat-track/

There are the results of round one at Terenzano, but nothing so far  about last weekend's second round meeting in France. The third and final round is next Saturday (September 14) at Misano in Italy.

On the St.Johann (Austria) speedway website there is a picture of the winners of round one at Terenazno, and they show the results of that first round. https://www.speedwayracing.at/2019/07/29/erfolgreicher-fim-flat-track-cup-round-1/

From a personal point of view, i find flat track boring. It's aimed at the participants rather than the spectators. I much prefer grass track as an alternative to speedway, especially the 1000cc chairs.

This is a view shared by many on the speedway/ Longtrack scene. It is only really an amateur scene in most places. Even in Canada some pundit has said it is flourishing, but only 9 meetings are held at various venues, mostly in Ontario. Probably far far more Rodeos are held

Many thanks Bavarian for your frequent authoritative items in regard to Flat Track racing. Like you I await with interest the full data in regard to the current FIM supported event.

Not very professional with the result, are they? Most sports, you have the results out instantly or shortly afterwards, not days ......

Flat track in the UK is an amateur sport run for the riders, it makes no pretence of being anything else. It is growing rapidly however and is in a very healthy state. I'd agree that to go and watch a whole UK flat track meeting can be a bit boring simply because there are so many races but the Pro class does provide some really excellent racing and the standard has gone up a great deal in the past few years.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeBMZXvUGuc This is the pro class racing from the MCN Festival at Peterborough this year. It's worth noting when watching the final that Johnny Lewis is a very decent top level rider in the USA who will usually make the main (Final) in the top class there. My lad has a pretty good crash in the first race too!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzXgLI6sCCw Round 4 from a very wet Ammanford valley. No final as it was just too wet so scored from the heat results.

An excellent summary on the state of UK Flat Track racing. A delight to read after the continued spate of comments from those who 'delight' in making ridicule of the formula in the UK.

I don’t think either Cityrebel or myself are ridiculing the sport. Just stating opinions, which to an extent Vince agrees with. Plus I am only passing on comments from various people who have posted elsewhere in the past

YouTube Video of last Saturday's second round of the FIM Flat Track World Championship in France

To be honest, I am not impressed ! It is nothing compared to the AMA events in America!

One of my local speedway tracks, Nordhastedt has started a flat track section with training. Guess there will be a meeting or a some races alongside the speedway in the near future
