There are definitely not enough riders of a good enough standard that want to ride in Britain to fill every team.

well if you believe that to be true and we don't find the riders then the team aspect of the sport is finished

As there is no Promotion and relegation... would it not be prudent as a Promotor of a Club, to do some market research with the fan base who regularly pay to watch the speedway at their track, as to what League they would prefer to see their team racing in?

There ARE riders - they just need a chance, they'd soon develop just like they did in 68 and 69 when there "wouldn't be enough riders" to staff BL2- within a couple of years they were the backbone of the England team.

IMO the basics are scrapping doubling up / down and reintroducing real team speedway , not this mercenary driven free for all we currently have and admission costs reduced , until these are addressed I don't think we will ever begin to recover , we have to dangle a temptation carrot to the wider public, I keep seeing riders tweets about what's in this agm for them ? What about the fans ?

Very true without the fans theres nothing at all in it for the riders.

Then they need to cut down the number of riders per team....

One of the problems in the Sport is the huge ability gap between numbers one and seven so run with less riders but of a more equal ability level...

Maybe make five man teams from last years EL septets eg take Zagar and Jacobs out of BV's team from last year and you have no 'superstars' nor 'NL heat leaders' and must surely be cheaper to run...?

If that is right - another bloody daft decision.

Pathetic really.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

As Victor Meldrew once said I do not believe it. They didn't really announce green helmet colours instead of yellow. Some saw the sarcasm of that being the promoters big Day 1 decision and some didn't.

But Jason Doyle did tweet he is doubling up next season as he wants more time on the bike. Which team will he add to Swindon ?

Not do maths at school?

Currently you have fifteen heats with fourteen riders. This means you pay for 90 points.

You want 6-man teams? That's 12 riders. But you'll still want 15 heats, yes? So you're still paying for 90 points.

Your saving is..........?
