Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April

Recommended Posts

Easily one of the worst pairings in the league

Greaves is easily the worst number 7 and is not top flight standard in the slightest. Clegg I didn't expect to be so poor. He is the main worry of the pair.

Agree with you re: Clegg but Greaves is and always WILL be nothing more than a Championship quality reserve and the sooner he is replaced, the better for Wolves for sure. I was astounded when he resurfaced this year at Wolverhampton after witnessing his "efforts" a couple of seasons ago when he was last in the Elite league. It may be harsh to say but the lad is never going to make it.

Greaves isn't even Championship reserve standard! There are already better options available. Hume would be worth looking at if fixture availability allows given he already rides both leagues as it is.

The reserves however aren't to blame for either away performances. Jacob and Sam have been hugely disappointing.

Good to see Adam put in a decent effort too. Just waiting for the usual suspects to comment how poor he is. Unless this performance has finally helped to keep them quiet for now.

Disappointing but Rye are likely to be strong at home.

Davey will be out of the team by the time Wimbledon starts in June.

Can't blame you for the negativity. The thought of watching David "Magic" Mason poodling around the white line every week would put me on the suicide watch list

Adam was very much on the pace and did what was asked of him.

Can't think of anything negative to say tonight. Great crowd that resembled Sunday afternoons in the late seventies, the facilities for watching racing were far better than I expected and it was great to see the back straight fully open along with bends 1and 2.

On the team front as expected Kennett Nicholls and Harris all did well as did the reserves with Perks looking far better than I thought. How well we do will revolve around Robson and Watt with Davey looking poor in his first two but then picking up well as the meeting went on.

All in all a big success for the promotion and that's something I never thought I would be saying

To restrict Wolves to fewer heat wins was a real credit to Rye's team effort tonight, especially on a slick track.

This is a team of racers so it's going to be a very interesting season me thinks!

Our heat leaders are not fully dialled in yet, which is absolutely vital considering the make-up of the team, Rye have a good team and congratulations on the win. I expect a very tough meeting at Monmore with so many track specialists.

Great to see a decent start for Rye. As a Berwick supporter, I'll miss my trips to Hoddesdon.
Always a warm, friendly welcome as an away fan, I'll watch for some good results, and might even manage a visit to a meeting in the summer :)

Unsure why the Wolves fans are being so critical of their bottom 2 after a few matches.

Greaves is a 2 and Clegg is a 3 point rider and they both have scored a few points each meeting, so they are actually doing their job.

Wolves built a 5 man strong team. Howarth and to an extent Lindgren are riding well.

Skornicki got his average tonight.

The problem is Thorsell and Masters who have 9 averages and are scoring in the 5 to 8 point range in their two away matches.

Thorsell scored high at home and Masters did not. Probably harsh on Masters but he hasn't started well.

Rye must win something this year. If it's not on track then they should get an award for thee friendliest staff.

Good turn out tonight, maybe 3k. Apparently 1000 pieces of fish were ordered, and sold out, also sold out of programmes. A member of the BMR team was at the gate on the way out and he spent time chatting to fans and thanking them. Work to be done on the buildings but it looks promising.

Big thanks to TNT for the lift

One meeting where he started poorly, then got 2nd & 1st, but you hang him. Maybe give him a handful of meetings. Wasn't that his first meet of the season ?

Don't recall Kennett, Robbo & Watt getting much track time before tonight. Wolves have had 2 meetings this week and should've been sharper.
