Maybe instead of pouring money into foreign riders, how about investing it in British youngsters and infrastructure / social media?

 

British riders improve on the world stage, the sport gets promoted to a wider audience encouraging yet more sponsors = more money

 

 

 

No, lets bring over another Aussie / scandinavian for short term glory and then moan when they bugger off.

If the ex-British Champ TW cant be bothered racing in the UK, what is it that makes UK attractive to non-uk riders.

Could it be its a good training ground, but more then that, and certainly with the Aussies, it gets them the paperwork they need to ride not only in the uk but europe as well.

 

British speedway is at its low (hopefully no lower to go) so lets start rebuilding by using british youngsters first, and if any genuine gaps then can be filled appropriately as needed.

 

I like Hatei Zagar as a rider, but glad dropped by BV this year if only on cost alone, though I know Fri night speedway is not good for GP riders ie practice day

the aussie riders have to be carefull they dont dig their own graves,matt said if british clubs didnt bring young aussies over anymore speedway in austraila would be finished in a few yrs,he sort implied that if the polish situation got worse(he thought next yr the rules would apply to all polish leagues)he wouldnt be bringing any more young aussies over,they need british speedway more than we need them

Hats off to Matt Ford, the likes of Chris Holder and co who are berating British speedway promoters and fans on Twitter should realise where their wealth and careers have emanated from.

 

Lets see just how many young Aussies start their careers by living and riding in Poland when they first leave their native shores.

 

Good luck to the riders who decide to take the money option on the way up in their careers, because you just don't know who you will need once you start coming down off of that pedestal.

British speedway owes a great debt of gratitude to Australian riders who have been the mainstay of our history in

league racing and should always be welcomed to this country.

 

If the situation now exists that Poland want to bring in their own rules for the top league then so be it and we will

have to abide - it was always going to happen when originally suggested more than 5 years ago.

 

Our domestic leagues are still the largest in Europe and with deminishing riders available we now need to see

promoters energy and money invested in junior racing and stop looking for the quick fix from overseas.

getting a visa for poland might be the least of their problems,language,accommodation,air fares,vans,workshops,sponsors,travelling half way round the world and not getting a ride,remember they cant ride in polish team as a reserve,if riding not getting paid!didnt havvy say recently hes owed money by every polish club he ever rode for.doesnt affect chris holder etc young aussies want to be carefull what they wish for

Time to get tough with the Australians.To late for the ones that are major stars but the likes of young Holder etc should be made to choose if you want to ride in Britain then we come first and you ride in all our pre arranged fixtures.This should be in the contract they sign if they don't agree to this then they don't ride here full stop.

As for any future Australians.N/Z and USA riders that want a chance here(which they won be given in Poland)they should have to sign a contract that says that for say 8 years ? you are tied to British speedway which over this period Britain come's first and that we have priority with pre arranged fixtures over any other countrys league.Its the only way that British promoters can protect themselves and justify the money they will have spent on bringing them over and nurturing them for the first year/years.As it stands now Britain is the only country that is willing to give them a start so if they are not willing to commit to Britain for a few years then they don't deserve the chance we give them and don't deserve to be here so let them try to get a start elsewhere.

The Poles started it so we need some way to fight back perhaps this could be a start.We need to get tough and look after our own interests first if our leagues are to survive.

On a more serious note the Poles really have bullied the rest of Europe with their demands.

The likes of Chris and Iversen as example would probably have no choice but to be dictated to by them however the next generation like Jack need to think hard and fast about which is best for them at this stage of their career.

The amount of racing and experience he will get in Britain this year far outweighs any chance he may be given in 2017.

Once he is experienced enough he can make his own decisions about what is best for his career.

It's a shame ALL the European clubs didn't stick together on this and refuse to sign.

Now they do actually run all of Europe's leagues. It's downhill from here because THEY make the rules we all have to follow.

Fair play to MF this time, whether it's going to cause a rift between him and young Jack tho is to be seen.

another thing riders need to take into consideration is that Polish speedway is still going through a boom time, history tells us this will not last forever!
