Edinburgh V Berwick 14/4/17 Sgbc

Recommended Posts

Looks like some Teams can cope with this situation.Like someone pointed out if Carr goes to reserve and Dany comes into the Team the situation probably won't change.Berwicks top 4 need to up their game IMO.

Lets get started on the Berge&M Riss debate... as far as I could see Mark's throttle jammed and he went full speed into fence?

Agreed, it looked a strange decision from where I was stood on the 3rd turn, the Edinburgh fan next to me also couldn't see how it could have been Berge's fault. Couldn't really see because of how dark the track was, might have missed something.

So Berwick get the annual humping at Armadale, no surprise there, the Carr to No4 experiment failed miserably with him failing to trouble the scorers, there must now be question marks over his place in the team.

All credit to any Berwick fan for making the trip up tonight.

The fans who made the trip will know Liam and Kevin were on a 5-1 ahead of Erik Riss when he overslid on the second or third lap on a greasy track and came down. In his next one there was a bike problem (maybe a result of the earlier crash) and in the third ride he hit the first turn in second place when his chain seemed to snap and he was thrown off.

Nil return, but plenty of effort. "Failing to trouble the scorers" slightly harsh criticism IMO.

Have to agree with you only 1 race winner tells it's own story , the back up riders are there to chip in with a few points but you need more than 1 race win from the top 4 to be competitive. Also the only race winner for Berwick just happened to be a reserve.

Easy night for the boys even though a couple of them weren't at their best. Track was tricky with the heavy shower that fell in the afternoon making the track heavy and patchy. Erik, Sam and Ricky didn't even look like getting beat last night very impressive.

You can drop Berge and Carr all you want, but that doesn't mask the fact that Berwick heat leaders don't beat opposition heat leaders and we don't provide enough heat winners throughout the team. One heat win last night and around half a dozen in away meetings in total so far this season.

Edinburgh have riders who are struggling too, Davey and Clegg. The difference is the rest of the team makes up for that.

Well said to say you nailed that one on the head some of our riders need to think about there pay cheques and whether they justify what they collect.

Carr scored zero, so did fail to trouble the scorers, if the terminology I used is slightly to harsh then I accept that. Please don't think I am putting Berwick's failure to win meetings so far this season all down to Liam, far from it, we have a No1 who is failing to win races on a regular bases, a No5 who's drop in form of late is alarming and at least one other rider under performing. Hopefully for Liam his new equipment will do the trick and we will see the kind of scoring we saw towards the end of last season.

The team has no backbone our heat leaders are sub par compared to the rest of the league as are our second strings

Bridger looks quick when he gets going but he can't make a start for one reason or another

The only positive is Gappmaier but as soon as the averages change and he is pushed in to the main body of the team I think he will find it more of a struggle.

As you always said when you were centre green a race lasts 4 laps or at Armadale sometimes 5 :lol::lol:
