Wolves V Rye House - 24th April 17

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of coming up from Rye for this meeting but it's going to be weather permitting so I'll decide Monday morning. It's been a while since i've been to Wolverhampton and would like a bit of advice, what's the parking like, what time do the gates open and do I need to bring a chair or is there plenty of seating and is there a particular area where the away fans sit (although I don't mind sitting with Wolves fans as well as all us speedway supporters are a friendly bunch :) ) any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hope the rain stays away for your visit. Keep checking the fb and official site. I fully expect Mr Wells to be a thorn in our side tomorrow. Hope its a good meeting anyhow.

There is seating in the lower grandstand, but you will have to be there pretty early to get one. It is set up for the greyhounds, so you are sitting sideways as in a booth. There is a fast food outlet at one end of the lower grandstand with tea/coffee etc. With regard to the car park, there is plenty of space, but it does get full later on. I would recommend parking in the main car park, as there are stewards patrolling it, and I would not advise parking in the adjoining streets, as it is mainly industrial and problems have been known in the past. The car park is free. With regard to the chair, I presume that will be no problem to take it into the stadium. However I'm not sure how much use you will be able to get out of it, there is no grassy bank, a la Peterborough, from which to view the racing. Unfortunately Monmore Green for quite a while now only has fan access to the 4th bend and the home straight. This was due to stadium changes that the speedway club had no influence on. Therefore for the length of the home straight and 4th bend it is terracing and everyone stands. A portion of the 4th bend may be unterraced but the view is probably not great. As you come through the turnstile going to the first bend there is a burger van, ice cream van and souvenir stand.

Home win but it could be tight. Hope the weather is ok and a good and safe meeting for fans and riders.

Clegg in for Branford makes Rye a little weaker IMO

Reckon Clegg will be really up for this one, so could prove to be an astute guest choice.

Has the makings of a great match.

Bomber and Nicholls are track specialists at Monmore Green and Lindgren and Thorssell will be tested by those two while Kennett and Robson have both had good battles and scores here and of course Ricky knows the track better than most and while he has been poor so far, Max Clegg will come good in the end and that could start tonight.

Wolves could just shake off the challenge but it wouldn't be a suprise to see all three points heading south. Should be a cracking meeting and good battles.

Should be a comfortable homw win now that Wolves have strengthened.

I think Wolves should win this one, Lindgren and Thorsell are almost unbeatable at Monmore plus the changes they have made will make a big difference, Wells should be good for a good score at a track he usually goes well at, Nicholls and Harris are also good performers at Monmore so could be close but i think Clegg and Robson will let Rye down. I would say 50-40.

I think Clegg in for Rob makes us weaker.

Typical British Speedway :lol::lol::lol:

Think Clegg will be fired up to prove a point.
