Belle Vue Colts V Mildenhall Fen Tigers Fri 28/4/17

Recommended Posts

I think it was but more for the rest of the league than just Mildenhall. Quite simply, no-one predicted that score and it shows just how strong Belle Vue are at home on a track where horse power is very important.

Bewley and Smith never really looked like being beaten and Payne was only slightly troubled. Bickley was impressive and Woodhull showed promise.

Credit to the Fen Tigers, though, because despite getting battered they never gave up - Mountain especially.

Halifax, Smith has done well this year for the Colts and for the Aces but is struggling in the Championship wonder if Glasgow as a track does not suit? .The same with JBP found points hard to come by in the Championship both are good prospects and will come good no worries on that score.

Yes, was a surprising scoreline and was particularly surprised that Armstrong didn't show apart from his battle with Shuttleworth. Hope that this is not the norm as the racing last year was consistently entertaining. Maybe Mildenhall were just not prepared. They certainly weren't gating and Halsey had bike problems.

Payne was really fast so hopefully he'll do ok with Berwick tonight.

I also think that Bewley is just too good for this league a

nd maybe should just do Premier and Championship. Anyway, although not a lot of excitement an enjoyable night with a decent crowd.

The thing with Belle Vue is that although it is a superb racing track it is about having a lot of power. Glasgow is much smaller, much narrower and therefore more technical.

In the end, I suspect riding there will do Smith a world of good.
