Bjorn Knutsson ? Yes, I also saw Bjorn Knutsson whose name I have now edited into my OP. Thank you. And for your interest, my local speedway track - about one mile from where I live - staged its last meeting on Sunday, May 13, 1940. Terry 1,319 Posted June 2, 2017 Would be easier to list the World Champions I haven't seen... Lionel Van Pragg Bluey Wilkinson Jack Milne Freddie Williams Jack Young Peter Craven Tommy Price Bjorn Knutsson Chris Holder Tai Woffenden That's weird, my list of unseen champions is exactly the same! My last live meeting was Cardiff 2003, so I only saw Pedersen, Crump and Gollob before they won.

The Doctor... 1,478 Posted June 2, 2017 Yes, I also saw Bjorn Knutsson whose name I have now edited into my OP. Thank you. And for your interest, my local speedway track - about one mile from where I live - staged its last meeting on Sunday, May 13, 1940. What's that got to do with it ? My local track also closed on Sunday May 13 1940. You and i both saw nothing of Crystal Palace Speedway so the mention of it is pointless.
Guest Posted June 2, 2017 There have been some excellent responses to this thread. Keep the memories flowing please. And for my part it would appear that I am the only Poster to have seen speedway's first world champion, Lionel Van Praag, in action.
steve roberts 9,241 Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) You should get out more if you haven`t seen the last 2 ...would be difficult as apparently Tai Woffenden chooses not to ride in this country based on what I read on another thread...saw his Dad ride however!
