Wolves V Rye House 10th July

Recommended Posts

Back in action after a week off. No teams on the Wolves web-site yet but should be at full strength apart from a guest for Mark Riss, who is confirmed as .................................................Ellis Perks. I believe this is the first match since Rye House made their team changes and who should they be facing but one of the riders they dropped. Funny old world speedway. Harris, Nicholls and Robson are acknowledged track specialists and of course Wells is an ex Wolf, plenty of experience there. Having said that the powers of Harris and Nicholls are waning, although Robson should still do well at reserve. To Rye fans I would say don't expect too much from Sedgman or in particular Barker, I don't think he would class Monmore as one of his favourites. Wolves are fairly well established in the play off positions, so an 8 to 10 point win is more than enough.

The Wolves web site is intimating that Perks has a chance to make a stake for a permanent place as it is not really clear how long Mark Riss will be out for. At the moment, under the averages we can use Ellis, Starke and Perks, so that is not a bad choice, but maybe by the next set of averages the choice would be severely restricted, so perhaps that is the thinking in looking for a permanent signing.

8-10 points, are you serious? Will be close to 20

Depends if any of the Rye Wolves experts turn up.

Otherwise 10-12 point victory.

I meant I would be happy with a 8-10 win, I'm not saying that's what it will be ! Our averages are too high already, I wouldn't want them to climb any higher.

Still in two minds whether to go or not. Removal men take our furniture and possessions from Hoddesdon Monday morning, before we tidy up, hand the keys over and take the long trip up to the North East corner of England. We could take a detour to Wolverhampton, but that would mean getting back at around 2.30-3am.

Heart vs head

Id go wider than that. 16 -20

That's what I'm thinking Edited by Shads

Should be a decent meeting, Rye House have riders that go well at Monmore but dont think they will be able to compete with Wolves top riders. Wolves are favourites for the title and will be too strong on a good racetrack. Is Ellis Perks local to the area as he was standing in front of me last time i was there. I think he is a good improving young rider with a good future ahead of him.

This could be an absolute mauling. May end up being a busy night for Robbo.

Really looking forward to this, I hope it's better than the last last TV meeting from the horror track though.

You're looking forward to a meeting from a horror track ? Illogical, perhaps you should take some lessons in English comprehension.

So I wonder if Barker will have recovered from his 'illness' that stopped him guesting for Panthers at Glasgow??

Stats do suggest that this is a walk in the park. But Rye have a team of Wolverhampton track specialist. It will hopefully be closer than people expect and it's never difficult having to watch Harris, Nicholls and Robbo at Monmore.

While some actually enjoy horror, (which explains why he likes the horror track I suppose) I don't, but I always look for positives. That's why I'm hoping (against hope if I'm honest) for a great meeting and that we don't end up with a thread littered with negative comments about the horror track again, like the last time it was on TV.

Being as your the only one repeatedly calls it a horror track then i suspect it wont be littered with references to it being a horror track except from you.

Robbo is an expert at existing bend 4 on the kerb.
