Championship Fours 06/08 Peterborough

Recommended Posts

Yes i would agree salty. One of the worst things about the statement was he had basically given up trying to qualify for the play offs even though in his words it was still mathematically possible to do so.Not the sort of thing i would like to hear from a promoter. You only give up when it is no longer possible

The crux of the matter is that Peterborough have developed Jack Holder into a rider that's simply too good for the 2nd tier of British Speedway.

Anybody who scores paid 16 at Leszno shouldn't be riding in the Championship.

Thankfully he is and we need to enjoy every single minute we catch of him, he's a future world champion.

BSPA should clamp down heavily on both riders and promotions who break the rules.holder should be banned& fined. Promoter should also get a big fine.any further .should promoter continue to break the rules they should be banned indefinitely, and no right of appeal allowed

And was that money used to gain an unfair advantage in this scenario?..no so you are talking rubbish again..what is it with you Ipswich lot?..whinging Rory certainly joined the right club.

Peterborough didnt cheat.

They broke the rules plain and simple.

Its is irrelevant wether the rule breaking weakened the side or not, the rules were not adhered to by the Peterborough promotion...fact.

A precedent has been set now which means that clubs can break the rules as much as they want and nothing will happen.

For what its worth im an Ipswich fan. Our side bottled it / choked and Peterborough were the best team and deserved winners.

But please dont be so blinkered to say you didnt break the rules.

Peterborough should be sanctioned for this and the fact that they have allowed Holder to miss league meetings to. Sends out the wrong message and short changes people.

Plus as ive said on ability Holder is better than Lambert but you cannot guarantee that he would have scored more than Lambert.......anything can happen in a meeting

Can we end this debate. Peterborough didn't cheat, but they broke the rules of the competition. Of course club and rider should face some sort of punishment to prevent this happening again. They need to be made an example of.

The bottom line is that Peterborough were influence by an outside agency to select a certain team for a BSPA event (where attendance is mandatory unless released by BSPA). That is not only against rules, but it is unethical and if allowed in the future open to total abuse.

Was it cheating? depends - if you consider cheating as breaking rules - then Yes, if you deem it to be trying to gain an advantage - then not directly for this event, but you may argue the incentive taken could gain Peterborough an advantage in some form in the future!

I dont think Peterborough cheated but rule breaking is in some ways a form of cheating. They were clearly not trying to get an advantage.....but at the end of the day Lambert scored 5 in the final. Jack Holder could have scored 0, unlikely but it could have happened, therefore in some ways Peterborough did get an advantage

The reported 10k paid to Peterborough for allowing Holder to ride in Poland is certainly an advantage for them - this may be what the BSPA refers to when they say about evidence.

That's not okay at all, unless he deserved it, but not at an event. Cook should be banned.

apparently. Cookie was totally out of order.Jason was just doing his job.Cookie needs to cool that temper of his.

Where has this £10k figure come from?

Absolute nonsense.

Maybe if other clubs developed riders like Peterborough then they may earn incentives from Torun.

Torun would rather field a donkey than sign any Ipswich rider.

Ipswich need to raise their game.
