Wouldnt be the first time that rumour surfaced as it happened preseason as well.

I do hope there is some team replanning being thought through as to have so many riders under performing to such a level is a concern. I cant see anyway this current lot will be challenging in the present format even if we are a long way off the play offs. A point against an understrength BV and another against a not great RH side is not optimistic for muchj needed points on the road if we are going to get into the play offs.

Most of the sides seem capable of beating each other which means for me those top 4 spots are going to be harder than maybe last season.

Suppose all will be revealed in the coming week or so after the Wolves match when we will know if these artificially low new GSA's are part of some plan to accomodate another top heat leader. If people think Holder coming back will change things big time, I am not convinced based on what I have seen so far. First GP was pretty good but his POL/SWE League from has been his typical inconsistency of the last season or so.

We shall see.

Thanks for clarifing that. To many wind up merchants on here who are jealous of Pooles success. Im not sure to be honest, but if a riders signs, on a temparary basis i think, he can make way anytime during that period. The rules are pretty much a grey area, and not just for poole, as some on here would have you think.

As far as I know a rider can sign a temporary contract for 28 days so that the rider he is replacing can come back in to the team on his previous average, I don't think it is a minimum, it is just done to protect the average of the unavailable rider but I think you can sign anyone for as long as you like but if he is not needed then you will have to rebuild the team to the team limit or replace with a rider on a lower average.

For Poole all that was important was a win and 3 points. They get no further points irrespective of the 47-43 win or if they had thumped in 60 points and would also have ended up with higher potential new GSA's as a result.

I hope that is the case as if these riders were all riding supposedly at the top of their game then such a result against a Rye team who have so far been hammered away and i expect will continue to do so, was hardly an inspiring team performance overall.

Dont sweat mate. Last night there were plenty of positives. You had 3 x Poole track specialists riding for Rye, make it 4 if you include Chris Harris. Nothing wrong with that result to be fair. Josh was better last night, the reserves scored 16 pts between them i saw improvemernt in Linus and Kasper just needs to become a bit more consistant.
Mate, i dont expect any team to win at Wolves, but its not even half way through yet, The atmosphere in the pits was a bit better, i would personally like to see riders roving around a bit more,  First and formost, we need to win our home meetings, and the more our newbies ride the track the better they will get.
Neil had a team meeting  during the inverval, which was a good thing. Nothing has really gone right from the get go this season, we had rain from 11 am to 4 pm, and the track was a qugmire, eventhough it was bladed off, it was still a leveller, as a fan, i went home  eventually, a lot happier than ive have done in the last few weeks. Matt and Neil will keep them on there toes, and you know what Matts like... Glyn will continue to work with the riders, but last night it was what it was.
Consistancy is the name of the game whether its rider or track, it will come, i got a good nights sleep last night, eventhough i got home and my ears were driving me round the bend, 123&4..    October.

Don't disagree with a lot you say Starman. BUT.... I can't help thinking Matt has something up his sleeve to come in and accomodate these new GSA's that will come in after the Wolves home meeting as that is the last qualifying date for the new riders this season (4h - 4A). What with Brady also now on target to be below 8 for June (7.63 on his rolling 20 match GSA going into the Wolves match)so allows another heat leader. I assume excl Nielsen who could be a real ace in the pack if he can keep that 3.67 going into June. he should do with what will be only 4 matches completed.

We have 6 matches between 28/5 and 27/6 and would be nice if we could get Woryna also at  reserve where with a 6/7 ride possibility could be another ace up the sleeve. We have already seen him starting to improve riding if not points wise and wouldnt surprise me if it all comes together for him June onwards.

I see Poole have updated their stats on the website for the riders. Incredibly Woryna and Spaniak on exactly the same potential GSA of 4.90. Spaniak slightly higher if you factor in BP. Will be interesting if they make sure Woryna scores at least one point less than Spaniak for that last GSA qualifying meeting next Wednesday ;-)

I just feel that if they can get a reasonably consistent top man (and I dont mean Chris as he is too inconsistent until he proves to me otherwise), then this team probably really can scale some heights as some of these riders who have been struggling really start showing what they are capable of.

As I said before. Could be an interesting week or so on the team news front.

looking at the crowd again last night bringing in a big hitting very expensive  no1 would be gamble,a decision i wouldnt like to have to make(unless he`ll ride for 50 quid a point and a tankfull of petrol !!)

I think you can have more than one over eight with a re-declaration, one over the eight is only for the initial declaration.

That's fair enough, just makes me wonder why other teams haven't got their one over 8 to drop below 8 so they can have another over 8 making a very strong team.

Correct but if you re-declare, you will have be within the 42.5 limit. However if you replace like for like, i.e. if you have 2 riders that now have achieved an 8 average this season,  the 42.5 limit would not apply.

Hence my earlier posts about how Matt Ford may well redeclare his team with an 8 pointer and keeping Brady Kurtz (and Chris Holder) and still be within the 42.5 point limit for June (and onwards).

I suppose we will find out if I am anywhere near the mark with my thoughts in the next 10 days or so. I hope so as I feel that will be the difference between a challenging for the title team or one stuck in the pack. For me Brady is still learning and doesnt deserve the pressure of being  an out and out number one at only 21. He has lots to learn and has already done well to be in such a lofty position in the Poole team plus now signed in POL EXL and Swe this season. He will improve as its as much mentally with him as well as skill on the bike, which he certainly has. If Chris is coming back I would  expect hi to be steady if not spectacular. That proven heat leader for me is what may define Poole's season ultimately.

Still fairly early doors but Poole need to fight its way up the league first. A top rider will lift some of that pressure off Brady and if the other newbies do improve (as we hope) and with a strongish reserve pairing then there is indeed optimism going forward.

I was under the impression you could only bring another 8pt rider in if he replaced the original one ie Kurtz.
