CB252 1,376 Posted August 31, 2017 Quote from a rider: she (t he referee) said she'd come down and when she dug her foot in and it broke up the top surface down about 3 inches she realised, it was literally breaking up in ruts and ridges so the bikes were just taking off in any direction and on a fast track like that...! Promoters need to learn they have to prepare a raceable track. Also said that Bomber was struggling to ride on it and that he'd (the rider I'm speaking to) never been so scared riding a track where he didn't know how his bike was going to react going into the bends! Riders did an awfully good job of disguising their bikes taking off then, as can only recall Bacon in heat 4 getting into serious bother. Was thinking of Ipswich on Saturday and Boro again on Sunday, but I'll certainly never risk travelling so far to see Rory Schlein ride again. Simply isn't worth the risk. There's certainly a business opportunity for Steve Worrall if he needs any extra cash. He could hire a classroom and try and teach some of his colleagues how to be classy both on and off the bike.
LagutaRacingFan 1,919 Posted August 31, 2017 Very sad to see the way Schlein conducted himself last night. He should receive a ban.
ruffdiamond 6,115 Posted August 31, 2017 Was it your normall track man? Sounds like he made some errors. does not having a 'regular' race night lead to staffing changes and problems ? but, at least all of the shinnanigans has maybe seen the diamonds skipper's return go un-noticed,,, shhh

That is so true, one of the nicest guys in speedway and deserves all the success he gets
StevePark 2,740 Posted August 31, 2017 Keep your admission tickets from last night. £5 off any of the remaining home matches if you can show last night's admission ticket. What about the Newcastle fans that were there? How do they get some recompense?

mikebv 10,163 Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) ......................................... This should be printed on a 6ft by 3ft banner and hung up at the next AGM... Above it should be written... "This actually happened"... Underneath it should be written. .. "If you were a fan of a Sport ran like this would you attend it regularly. Or, would you view it as so very poorly ran it simply wasnt deserving of your support?" - (Discuss).... Make it the Number One point on the Agenda... Make it the Number One point on the Agenda... it is really well put and, fans of speedway would know what it means, but,,, anyone from outside the sport would probly think it is some sort of joke/riddle. Gazc 6,976 Posted August 31, 2017 Very sad to see the way Schlein conducted himself last night. He should receive a ban. Was thinking along these lines myself that you should receive one for idiotic comments. Grade A and A*sehole spring to mind when I see you posting.
Barrow Boy 2 172 Posted August 31, 2017 it is really well put and, fans of speedway would know what it means, but,,, anyone from outside the sport would probly think it is some sort of joke/riddle. Think you'll find that most people (Promoters Excepted Of Course) within the sport know it's a joke as well. Promoters are responsible for all that is laughable and or cryable within our sport.
Icicle 896 Posted August 31, 2017 Schlein may have grumbled but he still rode (& won his race!).

Siggytastic 179 Posted August 31, 2017 Perhaps Schlein did moan and state his view which in a way is understandable given the nature of his injuries over the years but if the ref hadn't called it off and He refused to ride, then He could be treated the same as Holder. proud panther 1,494 Posted August 31, 2017 A fiver off is good, when you consider that Scunthorpe are only doing the same, & we only got 5 races there in the cup.
