Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.

Recommended Posts

Lasse Bjerre was booked to ride for Somerset in the second meeting tonight at Swindon. It seems he has refused to ride forcing Somerset to go with 5 riders only with no rider at number two. He is at the track.

Thoughts? Is it up to him or has he let Somerset down?

If he accepted the booking, is not injured (with a medical certificate) he should face disciplinary action. Same as Holder IMHO.

Very poor from Bjerre if he is not injured, what other promoter would take a gamble booking him now?

Only justification would be machine problems but can't believe that couldn't have been sorted either.

Lasse had no equipment to ride in the second meeting as he had bent his bikes in his crashes, Anybody at the track would have noticed in heat 15 he came out on Erik Riss bike. It has to be remembered as well that he is still carrying a knee injury from his previous Swindon crash and has strapping on this plus two more crashes today.

Erik Riss was asked to guest but couldn't do it as he has a flight booked and had to get up to Wolverhampton to meet up with Mark.

Josh Bates has picked up a jarred Neck from his crash hence him not being put in heat 14.

Why couldn't Somerset then have asked Bates or Riss instead.

Edit MattK beat me to it.

Was he in the first meeting?

Yes, he did have a fall and a retirement but finished with a second, maybe he's caught this 24hr injury bug that seems to be going the rounds (last seen at KL)?

That's answered everything there then.So that is just very unlucky on Somerset.

Flagrag has answered this so was obviously unable to borrow a bike (given he lent one to his brother for today) so it's a bit difficult to ride speedway without one!

Even on borrowed bikes he'd be better than nothing.

It would, but that is if someone was willing to lend.

Jake Allen withdrawn now,Somerset down to 4 riders.
