No Interest On Issues About Tuners, Engines, Technical Subjects?

Recommended Posts

Philip Rising confirmed that most Speedway Star reader have no interest in these issues. I would like to hear more feedback from the readership. When I hear riders comments like "big thank you to my tuner Mr. K oder Mr. PJ oder Mr. FG from Denmark .... Fact is, that most SGP riders spent a lot of money for different engine from different tuners!

Furthermore I still have not understood how radical Freddie Lindgren changed from GTR back to GM. FL states he has not finished yet with Marcel Gerhard and GTR, but in the Gorzow pits he had 3 Graversen-GM's ...

When you read that also Tai Woffinden had to change for engines from the danish tuner, I personally would like to know more details

speaking of tuners, Kowalski Racing posted this on facebook today:

At the invitation of the team # 95 we came to Gorzów to support Bartek and Maciek. Bartek got a defect in the final, Maciek scored 6 points. We continue fight for better performance next time.

On Sunday our new rider tested a fresh RK Racing engine. The tests went well and Tai won the tournament in Ostrów. The Woofy replaced the gap after ,,Russian Torpedo''.
In June, the Russian team with the manager at the top, take the RK Racing engine to another tuner in secret, which was stripped and examined. This is a beautiful thanks for helping to win two European championships ...

Very interesting news from Kowalski Racing. To me SGP-scene becomes more and more a high-tech-war of engine tuners !

Of course all fans are interested in which rider uses which tuner and everything that goes with it.

Take Tai, for all his blow about keeping fit, eating right etc etc, at the end of the day if you haven't got the best engines for the job at the time you don't win, he has proved that this year...

it's all fashion . a few weeks back every bit of success was credited to Peter Johns , now it's fleming Graversens turn for a day in the sun , it's all hype and nonsense theres only so much can be achieved within the rules and with a 500 cc single cylinder engine every "Tuner" has the same knowledge , over the years we have had otto weiss , then hans Nischler , then lantenhammer , then blomfeldt ,currently it's graversen , next week it will be someone else , fact is engine tuners have reached the limit of what can be achieved with a single cylinder engine , and it doesnt matter which one of the "tuners" builds an engine ,they can only do it to the same limit ,

THINK you are being a bit simplistic there. Woffinden says his bikes have been easier to ride since switching from PJR engines. Not that they are faster or more powerful.

Disagree, engine tuners are so important these days.

Or he has just been unlucky with how the results have fallen in several GP's, missing out on semi's with a score of 9, another semi with a score of 8 and his lowest score of the series so far was 7 and that included a tapes exclusion!

In reality he's been the most consistent rider and only needed to step it up a tiny bit to produce a result like he did at the weekend.

I agree, the tuners know which bits to use,it's the riders getting the set up right for the conditions on the night. On saying that, it's obvious that PJR has been trumped recently .Gravensen is favour of the month.

wonder what he'll say when he and his spanners make the wrong choices at another gp .Oh dear graversens magic spell has worn off , who's got the magical fairy dust this month ?

It's Anton Nischler, when he built my engines he used his own home developed camshafts and pistons, as well as different head porting there's loads of different ways to get more power / different characteristics from the same engines. When I stopped racing he was working on his own carbs too.

The German tuners like Weiss,Nischler,Lattenhammer have always traditionally been quite expensive and better at Grass & Longtrack engines. They also tend to do engines for other sports like Go carting and mini moto

I think NKI has used some Nischler engines this year for the GPS. At the minute it seems that Kowalski and FGM kit is the stuff that is working well at the moment but am that Peter Johns and Ashtec will soon have something better out
