As with his predecessors British riders who were also world champions, Gary Havelock was a dignified world champion. Sadly, times have moved on and not well in the opinion of many speedway devotees in regard to the most recent - and potentially again - British world champion. Lees subsequent issues are well documented. Would be interesting to note what you believe Tai has done that compares him unfavourably with those two riders? He served a one year suspension for the offence, then went on to be a world champion. IMO it's time to move on and put the old offence very much on the so-called back burner. However, this is speedway and for many BSF posters the past is never allowed to rest - even when misdeeds have been punished as is the case with Gary Havelock.
