slyfox 97 Posted September 3, 2017 The Polish playoffs have been on the ISL calendar since the 1st issue in February. This match isn't even on the latest one issued on the 17th August. Yes agree but you cannot say that this meeting was arranged till you know which teams are in the play offs. Recon George did not offer Redcar this date till it was sure that Lambert was wanted today (which would have been 2 weeks ago). Wonder how much it was worth to Newcastle to ensure Lambert was ok to ride in Poland. Rumor is that Peterborough got a five figure sum for allowing Holder to miss the 4's. Still got the Redcar meeting from 6th Aug to rearrange. Both clubs are free on 17th Sept (the last day for the play off cut off) Redcar will be desperate to have the meeting by then now they are in a play off position. Will we have to wait o see if Lambert has a Polish meeting confirmed on that day before Redcar can be offered that date.

Or did you say nowt because Redcar had nothing to ride for?? Have you the info of what dates were offered to Redcar before they accepted tonight?? You should be pleased your team is facing us without Lambert as you would have gotten beat if he was there.

screm 8,054 Posted September 3, 2017 Looks like Robert Lambert`s meeting in Poland has been postponed due to rain, re-arranged for this Thursday.
Norfolk Bear 250 Posted September 3, 2017 The rider situation here just sums up the mess that British Speedway is in . Until the double ups are stopped it is a matter of time before the whole lot goes ** up, especially when you read the Chapman article in the Star this week where he wants unlimited guests ,.. We have to go 1 league next season with 2 Race nights. If we don't then the sport is dead. To achieve this we may have to have a rider allocation for the first season , but needs must. Can't make it tonight , Redcar should get something from it but i will be surprised. Whatever UTB Hope all riders stay safe

KEITH M 850 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) If he can get back yes.Thought you were allowed 24 hours grace to get back from a world championship meeting and he hasn't rode in Poland 😀 Edited September 3, 2017 by KEITH M
Tsunami 10,219 Posted September 3, 2017 Thought you were allowed 24 hours grace to get back from a world championship meeting Up to Robert and the ref to allow him to be included in the line up I reckon. Wonder what time it was called off, and it there is enough time for him to make it. After all the waffle and sub plots wasted on this thread, it would be great to hear what those posters make of Robert managing to get back and ride tonight. Here's hoping. Looks like it was called off around lunchtime, our time, I would guess it would be just about impossible for Lambert to make it to Newcastle in that time. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/708765/w-lublinie-przegrali-z-pogoda-spotkanie-przelozone-na-czwartek

slyfox 97 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Thought you were allowed 24 hours grace to get back from a world championship meeting and he hasn't rode in Poland Would have thought he would have been allowed to ride if he made it back. As far as a guest would depend on the interpretation of the called off meeting counting or not. Noticed Scott Nichols is riding for Holder at Peterborough today as Holder rode in The under 21's last night but I assume was not committed to a Polish meeting today so that would allow a guest under the 24 hour rule. However Ellis Perks is riding tonight and he rode in the under 21's. Tero Arnio was originally booked as a guest for him but as Ellis rode on borrowed bikes over there he is flying back to make the meeting tonight. Gets complicated does it not Edited September 3, 2017 by Sly Fox
